Although an upset victory would be nice... I think the advantage the Cats have with their defensive front seven against the Warrior offensive line will be the deciding factor. Even though I admire their grit and ability to overcome so much adversity over the season - they just haven't been effective enough to keep the pressure off the QB's... way too many sacks. Against quality opponents (with veteran, quick, & strong down lineman) they have tended to fold. Bearcats 44, Warriors 10.

Why does the Star-Bulletin continue to place obscuring ads (this time, the Ke Ola O Pokai Bay ad) over articles, with a 'close ad' button that does nothing but send you to the Ke Ola O Pokai Bay web site?

It's disrespectful of the article's author (Jason Kaneshiro?) and diminishes his efforts on your behalf.

We played a good game . It was a bit dissapointing at the end but we lost to a good team. Cincinnati played a good game that's why they are in a bowl game. It's was an exciting season for Hawaii. We got one more game to go and hopefully it will be an win for Hawaii. I wanna say thanks and congrads to all our seniors for all the good memories at Hawaii Football. Hope to see them in the NFL.

I hope we play Notre Dame in the Sheriton Hawaii Bowl. It would be an exciting matchup. They are a good team and we are a good team and if Hawaii wins it would be a good send off for our seniors. Let's hope the accept the invitation.

Somehow, whenever the Honolulu Star-Bulletin posts topics they post them twice in the same forum (above).

The first post appears as "Warriors rally around seniors for big game - Sports" and the second (which is exactly the same) appears as "Warriors rally around seniors for big game - Sports News"

This becomes very annoying for readers of Topix forums!

During the start of the fourth quarter the score was 24-10 in favor of Hawaii. And that happened without Kealoha Pilares and Ryan Mouton!

While BCS schools are generally superior to non-BCS schools. Cincinnati's recruiting has always been bad. This year, Cincinnati won the Big East title and is ranked as 13th in the nation.

I don't really think much of Cincinnati, but when Cincinnati won the Big East title and was ranked as 13th in the nation, I felt that tonight's score would be something like 43-17 in favor of Cincinnati. Las Vegas gambling houses had the spread at about 7 to 8 points in favor of Cincinnati.

When the fourth quarter began and the score was 24-10 in favor of Hawaii, I knew that my hunches and predictions from January 29, 2008 that we would beat Cincinnati was correct and on the mark.

You can not recruit weak and expect to win a conference title, yet this is what Cincinnati did!

Our football team can see and does know the inside track as well as our coaches for this game.

If I were the President of the University of Hawaii, I would suggest to our UH Athletic Director that out of all conferences in the BCS, we should strongly consider a move to the Big East!

Boise State wants to move to the MAC and play BYU. We should be thinking of a move to the Big East and play Cincinnati every year. I solidly stand behind this idea!

With the way our team is preforming, we should really play Arizona State in the Hawaii Bowl as a win for Hawaii would certainly boost our confidence level.

Winning and beating the next man is not the goal or objective, but seeing and proving our worth and met is!

If we won in the Hawaii Bowl, then the only thing left for our team is (1) to tweek our program and (2) to, also, recruit better players. The top 20 in their specialty! This is doable!

Ideas and attitudes of our coaches and coaching staff need to change. The need a specialized plan and better players, then they are now recruiting for 2009.

What we are doing is overloading with dead weight and duplication. Duplication tells me that the head coach doesn't know what he is doing and is not able to choose and instill confidence in the better players available to the University of Hawaii. Both from the mainland and from Hawaii!

McMackin needs to have a plan and a goal for 2009 and beyond. He needs to have vision to lead the team for the next ten years and have the ability to fulfill those dreams.

I say join the Big East!

That is our best start and best advantage for the future.

It is also good to keep our sister school relations with USC and UCLA. I suspect that Manti Te'o may be going there as that school WILL provide him with his best advantage.

The rest of the other schools are our competition!

I am proud of my country and proud of my team, they played a good game and they were very sportsman like in their conduct. So, for this game that is all that matters!

Fans should look to 2009 and having the 18th best quarterback in the nation on our door steps.

Recruit Patrick Nicely? Answer: Yes, It Should Be Done!

Are you kidding? All those personal foul penalties for late hit/cheap shots?(I watched on TV and cameras replayed the cheap shots.) So stupid and undisciplined.

A littler perspective would be good here. UC has been a stepping stone for coaches, which hurts recruiting. Brian Kelly's predecessor is at Michigan State. Kelly came in after winning a bowl game
Furthermore, Cincinnati has to compete with one of the most storied schools and conferences for players. In that competition with Ohio State there is also competition for funding. Ohio State is in the capital and has great sway with state government. To OSU's credit, they have developed their alumni giving base much better than UC.

That means home and home. Do you really want to see UH playing Pitt, Louisville, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Rutgers, West Virginia in November and December? It was blowing and snowing in Cincinnati yesterday. I don't know if the Big East would be amenable to UH having three home games at the end of the season when the air gets a little brisk.

A home game for a bowl game. Wouldn't that be convenient!
How about the Motor City, International or Humanitarian Bowls?

Doing extremely well in Southern California! 2009 will be a very good year for many teams that had their eye and minds on football! USC, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama! It's going to also, be great for UCLA!

Being humble and playing good football is what these teams do!
