That is, in part, because they gave up a good chunk of their second day.
also, sports people are saying this draft is not very deep, so that is why they had a good first day.

nice to see they picked a FB, I just seen Mel Kiper say that was one of the best picks in the Fifth round. I guess this Johnson is a hell of a blocker.

You mean "sports people" other than Bill Belichick. But then, what does he know?

Anybody see ESPN and the analysis of this team by Dilfer, Carter and Jackson? If not, I'll let you know it was very encouraging to hear how much they like this young team. Chris Carter said they have put together a very good young team. Dilfer says Raji and Matthews are a perfect fit for the 3-4 scheme because of their versatility. They said the speed of Matthews will take some pressure off of Hawk in pass coverage. Also, Raji is type of guy to build a 3-4 defense with. They know more than me, so I'm excited to see what these players can do to help.

I believe it was a good move for both. Obviously Bill is very good at drafting, but they are known for trading down and it has worked for them, but also worked for us. We needed to get a couple studs on this defense now.

I saw it. You put a wonderful spin on nothing. For example, the comment about Mathews was a nice way of saying Hawk is too slow to cover worth a darn. But Poppinga is worse. So what do they know? Calm down Jeremy. Dilfer, Carter and Jackson were just filling up time with mostly broad meaningless comments. Sports guys do that alot.

Calm down Jeremy. We know how good the Patriots have been. We also know how bad TT has been. But when it comes to the Mathews trade, time will tell.

Calm down? TT changed his approach this year, are you not happy about that? He took a chance, which is unlike TT. I'm glad we traded up, instead of settling for mediocre late round draft choices which hasn't worked for TT in the past. I guess now I can't be excited after the draft like thousands of NFL fans usually are.

I'm not in love with any particular philosophy or approach. All I care about is his ability to create Packer wins. If the new approach works it's great. If not, then not. I personally like the idea of a Mathews in a Packer uniform. I'm old enough to remember and admire the careers of his father and uncle. The possibilities excite me more than most I bet. But what I want most is another NFL Championship. The results of this trade are more important than what I think or believe. Time will tell.

I feel TT and team just completed an outstanding draft. We all know you never really know until these guys produce, but I feel this could have been TT's best draft. We should get three immediate starters out of this group and all could be major upgrades over what we had. Raji could be an animal at NT, Matthews could be the answer at OLB, and the new FB is a 250lbs bull and the scouts say he loves to hit. There were also two tackles and other defensive linemen taken so could be very successful.
