I watched the game played between commercials too, I didn't really enjoy the BCS Commercial bowl a whole lot although i did like the outcome.

Waaaaaay too many commercials. I think that it was a football game sandwiched between a commercial-a-thon. Also, the announcers sucked. I am sure they took Teebow back to their hotel room after the game for a nightcap because they were expressing so much man lust for the dude.

also no showing of play clock at all. A "Next Snap" clock was shown a few times but was counting up and not down and was basically meaningless.

yea the coverage just absolutely stunk. I couldn't believe the "next play" clock. and how quick they were to cut away to commercials... oh not just commercials but 5 minute commercials...

I don't need a stop watch and calculator to know there were way more commericals than football. A menacing trend in collete football, (God save the DVR). Even live there were 15 or 20 shots of the Direct TV overhead camera. Football talk was always being overun with commercial talk, and the BCS logo seemed to keep the game clock display showing elasping time.

Except for the downs screw up, the announcers were in many ways a refreshing change from the Brents and Vernes. They talked about the game, not themselves.

The absence of the play clock was annoying. In short FOX has no business doing these games when they aren't doing them during the season. Glad to see this chapter is over.

After the 1st quarter I hit "mute" and blared from the stereo a compilation of monkey screams, nails-on-chalkboard and baby wailings. Major improvement.

Fox should stick to what it does best: 3-hour NFL pre-game shows, adult cartoons and pseudo-news.

By the way, the auto-censored part of my above comment was "mon*key." Good God, how long is George Carlin's list now?

I love Charles Davis, but even he had an off night. The broadcast was terrible. Brennaman was horrid and doesnt need to do football.

Not only was the 3rd down vs 4th down plain idiotic (why didnt someone in the booth or on the truck correct them in their ear pieces?)

His drooling over Tebow and saying that the OU players comment that Tebow would be the 4th best qb in the conf was the dumbest thing he had ever heard was stupid. Tebow may well have been the 4th best in their conference. It is debateable, which makes it a viable comment and not "the dumbest thing" ever said.

At the end of the 1st quarter florida was called for back to back false starts. It should have been 1st and 20, but when they came back from the 23904334 commercial break it was 1st and 15 and nothing was said. I could tell from watching it that the time had run out in the half before they called the false start, but if you didnt know that you were left scratching your head.

There are 10 other things I could go on about. What a joke.

Congrats Florida.

Everyone -- Solid comments and I thank you. I should have written about the "play clock" confusion as that was a game-long complaint. Note that Fox still has BCS games next year but the Rose Bowl (ABC) has the title game. Then ESPN takes over. And Fox did not put up much of a fight to keep it.

Oklahoma 42, Florida 21. Only in America can the No. 1 team in the nation get to play the "no respect" card. All the Sooners hear is that Tim Tebow is supernaturally good, the SEC rules and Texas (or Utah) should be playing in the BCS Championship Game against the Gators. But beyond the pregame motivation, the truth remains that the Sooners are the No.1 team in the country. We all will understand soon enough.

It was meant to highlight Oklahoma's no-huddle offense when OU used it. They were basically showing viewers how quickly OU was able (when they WERE able) to get the next play started in comparison to the usual pace.

College Football instituted a 40 second play clock that begins as soon as the previous play ends. So a 35 on Fox's clock was like a 5 on the rest of the networks. Just think soccer.

False start was not the call. The Referee assumed that was the call because the whistles blew before the snap. The quarter had simply ended and the other officials were running in to stop the play. Fox didn't mention it until that same guy had another false start call in the 4th.

If you show a commercial promoting your multi-angle online player, you'd better make sure it works.

Driverby let me explain it so your simple mind can understand it, the SEC is the best division in college football, Tim Tebow is Superman, Texas should have been playing in this game with Florida, and the number 1 team in the country are the Florida Gators. I hope you and Jerry can remove your head from the dark places they have been and see the light. Now you hush.

I'm not sure what you're angry about. Of course Florida is #1, and arguably, they should have been ranked #1 going into the game. As for whether Texas should have been in the game instead of OU, of course THAT is an arguable but valid point, also. It's not cut-and-dried the way you make it sound, which is why, really, OU was there anyway - because there was a decision to be made and that was the decision of many more people than just you...or Jerry Greene, for that matter.
My point was, so much of this is unknown, prediction, perspective, expectation, etc. Frequently people get it wrong. Frequently the so-called "experts" get it wrong. Most people get most of it wrong. For you to target Jerry Greene as though he's the only one is just stupid, and makes you look like somebody who's just not that familiar with college football unless their favorite team is playing. It also makes it look like you just don't like Jerry Greene, and select stupid examples to support your grudge.

Jerry,

The reason the network can't get a good sound from the bands is the players (e.g., the sound) are too spread out and they are sucking on their horns in an attempt to sound "balanced." One-fourth of the UF band could easily fill the Swamp with sound if they played with gusto.

OF course I loved the outcome. As for some of the comments here, some stupid, some good, and you can see by some, that Many were really paying attention. My opinion is that Fox totally screwed this up. IT was the Worst Presentation of a NC game ever. The broadcasters sucked, and the list of errors is so big, many couldn't put them down here, not enough room. THANK God that they don't have the game next year, and that they didn't try to extend beyond that. As for the comments about wether Texas or OU should have played the Gators, WHO Cares Now, ITS OVER, so it is the PAST. Yes you Both Have Valid points, but it doesn't matter anymore, and YES the big 12 Needs to FIX their system, that was so totally messed up trying to figure out who would be in and who wouldnt, it seems unfair to the other teams and if I was a big 12 team, I would do everything I could in the off-season to fix that issue. As for Utah, too bad, tell it to Boise State and Auburn and some others that have gone undefeated and NOT gotten even a piece of the NC. Again, its over, Florida is the NC and No. 1, so its time to move on people...

GO GATORS.
