The Vikings have a horrible offensive line - bad run blocking and poor pass blocking. Cook is not NFL quality (true also of T. Jackson)- some just don't make it and it's up to the management to see this and enlist the services of those who can and do belong in the NFL. Wins come before ego (or should).

Fans have every right to boo and call for the termination of the absolute worst coach in the NFL (like the players I mentioned, Childress doesn't have the skills necessary for NFL coaching). Fans know that play calling and poor execution resulted in what was essentially a loss against the worst team in the NFL - and at home, no less - to say that a win is a win is to turn a blind eye to the larger situation - play like you did against detroit, Vikes, every week for the rest of the season ans see where things go - 3-13 is where.

The line needs a an overhaul! not even the way overpaid right side did crap! Cook needs to take a long walk with Chili and Bevell. Get Hicks over on the right side it would be much better. Chicago is going to kill Gus with our crap O line!

I never thought I'd see the day that DeVries beats a tackle with a speed rush!.... He's more of a power/run stopping rotational end.

Good on him for having a good day

We all know the right side of the O line is our weak point. Why not give them some help, ex: Kleinsasser in the backfield. He can either pick up the blitz or be the safety valve reciever.

Fact. Ryan Cook played Center (solely) in college.
Fact. Spielman, Childress, and head of scouting felt Cook was worth a 2nd rd pick and would be a NFL calibre RT???

Draft Experts(?) felt Cook was a solid 7th rd selection.;
He is a smart, instinctive center who sees defensive line stunts/loops and delayed blitzes coming and can adjust to make the block. Overall, Cook is the type of center who is often overlooked because he is a limited athlete and does not dominate his man and may not be drafted because of it. However, Cook is going to learn to use his hands better and will make an NFL team as a backup center/guard and eventually will develop into a solid starting center. He will never be dominant, but will be solid and will block his man well in a small area.

I like Cook, he is a hard working tough kid put in the wrong position by an egomanianc. Cook should be developing behind Birk not playing RT.

Cook should be benched in favor of Artis Hikcs.
THis guy is killing the offense and is the most penalized RT in the league.
Sad that this coach is too stupid to see it.

I agree Artis Hicks did a great job at left tackle. If nothing else wait until after the bye week to insert him. Although our whole o-line has'nt looked good at all. Every time they get a drive or are in the red zone they screw up somehow. Thats poor coaching becouse its continusly happing. We should go after Tony Gonzoleis, we need more threts on offence side of the ball. Also need to bring up our intensity level. GO VIKINGS1111

In fairness to Cook, it was Klink that put him in this position. NOT his college position. A center's footwork & Etc. is totally different.

Certain fans are traitors, whiners, and morons who wouldn't know zone blocking from their own zip codes. These are the people I nominate to be fired, so please Mister Zygi, move ol' Ryan and the rest of your team out to California where they can play in a real football stadium and I can walk to games without the need for my cross country skis. Let these pityful folks chant to themselves alone in the Dome after the lights go out there. That's the kind of blackout I'd really love to see on TV. They can even chant "Fire Bagadonuts" when they get bored. I'd buy it on Blueray and play it over and over as an example of poetic justice.
