Last season in New Orleans, the Vikings needed Ryan Longwell's 30-yard field goal with 13 seconds left to beat the Saints 30-27 on "Monday Night Football." The Vikings' place-kicker expects nothing less for Sunday's NFC championship game at the Superdome. Full Story

This game may come to that. Would rather be depending on Longwell than Hartley.

I would rather it be decided by runnimg out the clock because we are 24 points up.

I'll bet the Packers are very sorry they didn't re sign Longwell when they had the chance. You kind of take him for granted but look at the playoffs this year. A clutch kicker is priceless!

Run out the clock? Why do that when you can throw another TD pass, break more records and piss off every team on next year's schedule? Are you kidding... run out the clock, what a JOKE!

You really think that Dallas is going to play harder against the Vikings next year because of a meaningless TD? The only thing it will do, is be something else for the media to keep bringing up, over, and over again. Once the players get out on the field, it does nothing.
And by the way, what is really wrong about playing a complete game? I guess it would have been the more noble way to keep pounding AD up the middle when Dallas was bringing everybody up, but why not take what they give you? Simple play, nobody got hurt, game over.

In reference to the Dallas game, I think we all know that if the Vikings were to have ran the ball up the middle again with AP, it would have given the Vikings no gain. The Clock would have stopped, and the possession would have changed. Now, we also wouldn't be able to expect ROMO to take a knee to run the clock out. They would of attempted to score again in hopes of some miracle come-back. That extra TD pass was basically a way of saying "Game-Over" and that's what most people don't like about it.
