Jesus, all these 'fire the coach' guys. They are starting to sound like 'tinfoil hat' guy.
Who exactly are we going to get to coach if we fire childress? Even if we get a big name coach, what the hell are they going to be able to do mid season to make the team better? Are you going to change the offense? the defense? Pull better special teams players from a magic hat? You change those things mid season on a large scale and we are going to get worse before getting better. The players on the field execute the plays, period. Let's start by letting the QB call some audibles at the line when there are 9 men in the box and let him put his money where his mouth is and go from there.
Make major changes at the end of the season, not during. We're not out of it yet.
Quit giving the negative ninny press more crap to write about. God knows they won't write about anything positive because it doesn't attract readers. It's not winter up there yet, everybody just relax.
Your question is, who do we get to replace him?
OK, how about a fence post, with a play card tacked to it, just for starters.

Exactly why I don't want him here! After all the other bad play by fellow players he decides to pick on the punter! Fire Childress after the season, No matter if they make the playoffs or not!

Whatever! I hate to side with Chill, but seriously, you have to be able to do it at least once out of two times. Kluwe needs to be able to do this if our team is struggling. That is his job. I really can't believe people are taking Kluwe's side on this. I think the way people feel about our coach has fed into this. I think Parcells would do the same thing.

I think Childress needs to go because he has the poorest impact on players. Every game the Vikings win this year is going to be from the players and not coaches. The Saints defense has a lot of problems and yet Peterson only had 32 yards. That made Clinton Portis look better. Now if Peterson gets stopped against the Lions this week, you know it is the coaching. Fire Childress name Leslie Frazier Interm head coach.

No excuse for our team, but does anyone feel like our schedule has set us up for failure? I mean, come on! Look at the Bears schedule. Look at the Giants schedule. I thought that the ones who win the SB get the toughest schedule? I'm thinking this stuff is semi rigged for TV/money purposes. Tell me they wouldn't prefer the Bears/Packers to win over the Vikes. That is until we reach the LA market. Then we will get a gravy train so we can make money for the league.

Kluwe had a bad game! Even Peterson had a bad game does that mean we should hate on Peterson?(TO AL Coholic) The Special teams played horrible throughout the night did you even watch the kick-offs. The Special Teams got burned in that game so don't blame Kluwe 100%. Even though he has the easiest job on the team.

It's funny that Chilly thinks the biggest problem with this team is the punter. Hey waive the punter and roll to the Super Bowl.

Al Co - Been saying that for years about the schedule scheming. Ever notice how the Cowboys schedule is always developed to their advantage (, games at home aginst tougher non-divisional teams, games aginst weaker competition on the raod, etc. plus the Thanksgiving week set-up). Only because the other three teams in that division are strong, only makes Dallas schedule a mid-level "strength of opposition" factor. But?....Dallas management is very heavily involved in the competition committee....has been for years. As far as Groucho Wilf, and Larry Fine Three Stooges Childress, somebody needs to run this team besides a couple of knuckle-heads or baffoons.

The guy only has to win eight of his 11 remaining games, and then three straight playoff games after that, to save his job. Otherwise...poof!

He's gone by the end of the season, and he'll never get another head coaching job at the NFL level.

Hang in there. Better days are nearing!

Childress' record doesn't justify the hate, and Klewe's performance doesn't justify the love. Too many people get their opinions about the Vikings from the talk jocks on KFAN. Too few are capable of making their own analysis.

OMG Matt...Got to be in the running for classic post of the year on this board...L M A O.

On a serious note...Kluwe did blow it...if he was told to do that and he couldn't even execute that then he is not the greatest punter some people claim...last year is last year...this year he hasn't done anything and to be honest has looked pretty bad...he hasn't nailed one punt inside the twenty from the our 45 or beyond...keeps just rolling for a touchback, and his punts seem to get to the returner way before any of our guys get there...but Chilly's knee jerk reaction was plain ridiculous...maybe Kluwe gave him some attitude in the meeting...and we all know you can't do that...lol.

I could not believe the punter kept kicking the ball inbounds...I understand that he was trying to get the ball down the field, but goodness, he should sacrifice punt-distance for having the opponents return one for a TD (or two).

The special-teams coverage is attrocious! So the entire unit is to blame, but don't just single out the one guy, without blaming the play-calling and "The KAO" for not being able to move the rock up and down the field!

kluwe has been one of the best punters in the league for years. all the more reason he should have had no problem getting the ball out of bounds on one of three kicks. our special teams is horrible. no coverage, poor tackling on kickoffs and punt returns.
i believe chilly to be a poor enough head coach that firing him now and placing frazier as interim would make us a better team immediately. seasons end we can decide if he is competent to continue, or hire someone else. even in victory it was obvious our players were poorly prepared and coached.

Your exactly right KingBlingBling...how hard is it to angle a ball out of bounds???...at the most you will hit it out of bounds way short but to not to be able to knock it out of bounds once???...to be frank that is quite ridiculous...another player in a long line of once he gets the fat contract just then cruises...Klewe is not innocent here...so please comment unbiased even though our coach is a moron. Klewe has sucked this year...yes or no?

Give me a break! Kluwe is a pencil neck...how hard is it to kick out of bounds, He makes 1mm a year, and he won't listen to his coach...cut 'em. Yea, the kick coverage team stinks, but why do you think Chili dip didn't want to kick to Bush. It's a no brainer. Kluwe is a putz who just wants to stack his net yards by kicking deep all the time.
