How is Drew Brees doing these days? Isn't he starting and throwing the ball with some consistency even after shoulder problems? Good move Dolphins - again.
Let's see. Florida has 3 NFL teams, Dolphins, Bucs, and Jags. Maybe I should change my loyalty to one of the other teams who are loyal to there fans.

This team would have been better served with Brees.... BUt since Nick can't draft and obviously can't evaluate free agent talent, what did you expect?

When you buy a used car there's always risk involved.

Daunte Caulpepper is the "used car" of NFL quarterbacks. However, it was widely known that he had a bad "wheel." Unfortunately there isn't a Lemon Law covering used football players in the NFL.

Most people buy used cars because they're financially cheaper and they're willing to take the chance. Applying that logic, what does it tell ya fans? Yep! The Dolphins were trying to go cheap and/or looking for an immediate "fix" rather than looking at the long term picture!

I'd suggest you don't invest in tickets for the Super Bowl in Miami regardless of that pre-season hype!

I think it's more than obvious that Saban needs help.Maybe it's time for a phone call to his mentor or even Shula. But I get the impression his ego would not allow it. What a shame.

Those who keep playing the Brees card are empty in their understanding. Given the choice of a healthy Culpepper vs a healthy Brees, I'd take Culpepper any day and twice on Sunday. This day will surely come, and the prognosticators on here will have to say "I was wrong." But by then your seat on the Phins bandwagon will be taken by a more enlightened follower.

And those of you who spew out racist comments on here (you know who you are), you're a disgrace to great phins fans nationwide and when the phins are back on top, please don't wear the aqua and green; go find yourself another team (like the saints)... you losers.

Daunte Culpepper is a fungus to this team. All of the players had such high hopes and they came crashing down when Daunte replayed 2005, 2002, and 2001 here in Miami.

The play you saw from his this year was only a continuation of last year before the injury where he went 2-7. Threw 6 TD's, 12 INT's and 5 fumbles. They put Brad Johnson in and went 9-7 with THE SAME TEAM in 2005.

The nonsense of him still being injured is a lie and everyone knows it including the one who was injured.

Look, the guy has won a whopping 47% of his games over his career. Yes, that's with Chris Carter, Randy Moss, and Robert Smith.

The reason he loses 53% of the time is because he fumbles a lot, throws a lot of interceptions and holds on to the ball too long. Not only this year, but lifetime.

Daunte Culpepper's Career Stats:
Played in 85 games.
Has 89 interceptions.
Has 81 fumbles (34 of which were turned over).
Has 249 sacks.

The math is simple from this point. It equals 1.4 turnovers and 3 sacks per game.

The Pro Bowl year of 2004 which everyone talks about ended in an 8-8 season.

Wake up South Florida, we need a quarterback. A winning quarterback.

Using your anology about a "used car"....What would you consider Brees then? How many "new" QB's are there every year? Besides the draft, who is the "new" QB? Dude your anology is worth crap! All free agent QB's would be considered "used" since they have been in the league for a while, hence the reason why they are "free agents". I guess if Young, Cutler and Leinert were made available last year, Saban couldn't go after them because they are "used".

Daunte is just scared of playing Chicago this weekend. I bet he comes back against a Jets or Bills team. What a loser.

Below is a post from a MN fan living in MN a few days ago. BE LEEVEME ISP location: Big Lake, MN

Minnesota hated when we drafted him cried tearz of joy when he left. BE LEEVEME when I say this that I actually was a C-pep fan to the fullest so I have no need to lie. I got a signed mini helmet from him, baught 2 of his jersys, got 2 of his rookie cards, defended him even when I knew others were right about him. But he never got it done, even with the best hands in the game(Cris Carter and Moss). After Cris Carter left us for the phins Moss was always the fan favorite despite what any sport show announcer said and even the stupid owner we had. Pep fumbles and throws ints. Check the season before his 2004 performance he was horrrrrrrible. In 2004 his stats looked good only cuz of Moss, Wiggins, and Nate burelson's YAC yards. I'm tellin the truth guys. Another reason why this guy sucks is he called a number of players to come play in Minnesota during their free agency.(And I'm glad they came don't get me wrong) And a number of players came seeing his 2004 performance thinking good things to come. Moss gets traded and now finally the team is "oficially " his. So what happens? Yall know how it went down, Pep plays horrible not having a good wr to bail him out and gets injured. This is when disloyalty kicks in and makes comments(DURING THE SEASON as Johnson is winning games with the same team he was losing with) about "whoever gets me next season is going to get a lighter faster Culpepper " signifying he wanted a trade.(he said all this to the local media reporters) All this after Zygi gave him his raise which was 10 million BE LEEVE it or not even though he signed a contract earlier. And after that, when he was injured taking it easy down there in Florida during some of the season I might add he demanded more money. That was it for me. Thank you so much for the 2nd round pick. Disloyal to the team, the fans, and the orginization that paid him well for mediocre or horrible performance. His stats speak for themself, this is just character flaws about him that make him worse. I know some of you guys want to be optimistic and loyal but it's a road with many bumps and sharp turns with that guy.

I would consider Brees the Corvette and Culpepper the Gremlin.

This was clearly a case where you had a guy on the rise vs a guy on the decline. We chose poorly.

One took his team to the playoffs last year and one went 2-7.

That statement probably has more truth to it then we know. I think Daunte and Nick are both scared to see him play a real defense after the damage he has done against Buffalo,(5 Rookie defensive starters) Houston,(Ranked last in the NFL on defense) and TN.

Culpepper clashed several times with coach Brad Childress.''I never had a conversation with him about this football team,'' Childress told The Minneapolis Star Tribune in March.'It was always about what he needed financially and money. I never heard `team,' I always heard 'me' and 'I' and 'I need $10 million dollars. I'm a $10 million-dollar-a-year quarterback.'''(You deserved it then, and you deserve it now Daunte!! Look at all those superbowls you won!!!!)

Boy there sure are a lot of Monday morning QBs commenting on this article. Brad Johnson is really lighting it up in Minnesota isn't he? And he'll be what 50 years old next year? He also has a lower QB rating than Culpepper. Brad looked real good last night.

Brad Johnson has the ring. He was on the float in the Superbowl parade. What does Daunte have? What has Daunte done?

Any QB who throws 5 yard passes that the defense gives you 98% of the time has a good passer rating.

This is not a discussion on Brad vs Daunte. It's a calling for a better QB. One with a future not an incosistent, money hungry BUST.

Wait a minute...didn't the Fins first pursue Brees? Wasn't it Brees that chose N.O. over Miami? Didn't that force Saban to go after the next best choice?

How does any of this make him a bad 'evaluator' of talent when it comes to the QB position?

Now the draft is another story!!!
