Hmmmmm. The Friedgen teams have a definite style. They just don't seem to be mentally disciplined enough to easily dispose of lesser opponents. Penn State creams these guys from FIU and Maryland eeks out a win. Last year's 9-4 was a soft one with many wins that easily could have been losses. I hope that flipflop doesn't happen this year. We''ll find out a great deal about the character of this team and the Coach's ability to motivate them this Thursday.

Lescoeurs - I concur. Often it seems UMD only does as well as the QB plays. Only S McBrien really ran the offense the way I think Fridge wants it to be run. I thought Portis would be "the man" but we now know that is not going to happen. Thursday will be a reality check, and then Rutgers in a couple of weeks.

The ACC really took it on the chin yesterday...hard. Miami showed, they have not improved, maybe even regressed. VT...ouch. I knew that would be a tough game that they probably would lose, but not THAT bad. But the game I watched, Wake blew it big time. They should have won that game.

Not a good day for the ACC. Im hoping UMD can put together a gameplan to put up a good fight against WVU.

The Defense is again solid but we lack the offensive fire power needed to compete with the top teams in the country. The keys for thurs nights game; Ball Control, No turnovers, and force some TO's.
I still like WVU to roll 38-13

I think WVU will have more rushing yards than Friedgen has lbs.

All due respect to Stef, he has a talented group, if not the best core of pass catchers in the ACC. Barring turnover, he has to get that ball up, even if only to give the receivers a chance to make plays. Playin' safe only puts you out safely.

I root for UMD basketball and Gary Williams since I grew up in Md. But my Mom is WVU alumni, my mother in law is WVU alumni, Both my wife and I are WVU alumni, and my oldest Daughter was born in the hospital overlooking the Football field in morgantown. My dad has lived in Md his whole life and is a UMD booster. On Thursday my Mom won't even talk to him until the game is over. I ahve not gotten my Terapin times recently is Williams going to have a good team?

That is a given. I think Slaton may have more rushing yards by his self than Friedgen has lbs. I'd say he will put up atleast 200. He loves to play Maryland. How stupid is Ralph Friedgen? "lets take away Slaton's scholarship. I don't think he can make it at this level" HA Just think Terp fan's. You could be watching Mountaineers chasing Slaton all over the field this Thurs. night instead of watching him run away from your defense. Maryland may put up a fight. They have traditionally played WVU tough, but I don't expect this one to be very close. Maryland may make a push in the ACC though.

BC and GT are the Acc schools to watch and they play this weekend I think. That should be a good game.

I wouldn't count out VTech just yet. They are going to start a true freshman QB next week. If he works out they will be the best team. I like Georgia Tech too.

my opinion lately..all steffy had to do is pitch and run..wvu is rather non-existent..unless they bring the kitchen sink ..the pass yardage will be as much as wvu rushing yds.

Not to far off on the prediction..WV just has to much fire power!

I think our D played well in this game. WVU held Maryland to 7 points through 3 1/2 quarters. It's a good series. I'm pretty sure they will get another long term deal worked out. They are a rival.
