Dolphins draft reveals thoughts on veterans

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Can't wait to see Cameron Wake. He must really be something. Either that, or we'll be seeing Jason Taylor here again soon.

Viewing ESPN, I have no idea what happened. ESPN is a talk show, a soap opera, a group of know-it-all 'experts' that refused to show the draft when it really happened... they were too busy talking... talking... talking. The NFL needs to regain control of their own NFL draft. Perhaps the NFL should provide the TV feed to the local network stations in each NFL city, Then... I would doubt that the local NFL team... or the local college player drafted would be ignored.

Yeah I'm pretty surprised myself that the Trifecta didn't pick-up any players for the front seven until LATE in the draft. They BETTER pick-up JT now. If he's healthy he's at least got another year or two in him. Hopefully next year Miami can pick-up a real BEAST to add to the front seven (unless Wake ends up becoming that player).

Dolphins drafted Patrick Turner from Southern California in the third round. He was the 13th receiver off the board, and that might have been a reach.

Scouts Inc. rated him the 38th best receiver in the draft. Pro Football Weekly's draft guide ranked Turner 30th, saying he "has no upside" and that he benefited from facing single coverage because the Trojans' offense was so loaded.

Wake had 39 sacks in two seasons in the CFL. If he can just be half that productive in Miami (20 sacks in two seasons) he'll be a great signing. Guess we're going to find out since the Phins didn't draft any OLB or pass rushing DE types.

Hopefully, the Phins can get at least a 4th round pick for Jason Allen if they trade him.

Let's turn the wildcat into the wildest cat. If your going to spend a 2nd round pick on Pat White, why not trade Beck for Vick? Imagine White and Vick in the backfield at the same time. Try stopping that. The Dolphins could completely revolutionize the game.

I think this will come down as one of the worst drafts in NFL history next to the 2007 draft when we passed on Brady Quinn and then took John Bleh.

God I hate Scam Cameron!

Wake will be everything the TRIFECTA thinks he'll be!!! The guy is a bonafide stud!! Yes it took a hiatus in Canada to hone his skills, but you can't argue with 39 sacks in two years and back to back Def. player of the year awards in any Pro League!!! We are only a few core players away from really contending for the Super Bowl and I think we will hit on Vontae Davis and Sean Smith to shore up the secondary!! Soliai will be fine and with Langford and Merling coming along nicely we will have a top ten defense! GO DOLPHINS!!!

Correct me if i'm wrong toad lickers.
WVU QB from the Skins for JT.

OSU WR and the GT OT with the Satele trade from Oakland. Satele for these two.

In the 2nd we slid down a few picks walking away with Smith a corner and Clemons a saftey in the 5th. Thanks Indy.

i liken this process to that of getting chicken salad out of chicken $hit. Thats just my optimism.

The other thing lots of people don't realize is that Ginn played QB in high school and for the 2005 fiesta bowl vs. Kansas St. and took snaps out of the "Shot Ginn" formation. With Ginn, Brown, and Pat White on the field at the same time, the Wildcat can go crazy. BTW I'm not saying Ginn's a good passer, he's probably not improved since that game, and wasn't great in it at passing, but it could add another wrinkle to the already awesome formation.

People just enjoy the picks, you will have plenty of time to either bash the coach or praise the coach, then you will also have time to bash the player or praise the player, so just be a hush puppy for now and let you barking begin when the proper time comes to do so..

Go Dolphins!!!

The draft allowed the Parcells regime to complete their objectives. They realized they had to upgrade the secondary and improve the receiving group without drafting a # 1 receiver because none would be available after upgrade of the secondary and getting a wildcat performer (Pat White). My opinion is that Jason Taylor will be signed this week with Cameron Wake playing a large role this season. There will most likely be a new Chad @ QB with Pat White as the wildcat performer placed in many roles.

I got to say how much I agree with you. My day will be made when they sign Jason Taylor. He was such a great part of our pass rush. He'll play immediately with the heart he built here and hopefully retire with a ring. It's time to get over last years mini-camp conflict and get some work done.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Aquarius

It's a sociable and gregarious mood my dears, so it would be a shame to keep yourself to yourself. Not that there's much likelihood of that, because with the Moon in Leo and your seventh house of others, your popularity is on the rise and you're in demand. Why not go out with your other half, or meet some friends? Get everyone together for a drink or a meal.
