Sorry to see Jake loose his job here. If Vick comes to the Panthers, I will engineer in another state, he(Vick) will stigma North Carolina as a team of opportunists who will abuse their dogs just for money and show.

I am thankful that Jake gave us so many great games. He just was never the same after that injury. I remember taking my son to see a game in Charlotte. We were in the baking hot son for about an hour and a half hoping to get an autograph from a Panther. Every Panther, Smith, Muhammad, Kasey, all of them walked out on the field, warmed up, and then left without a single nod to any fan. Jake warmed up and them went around giving high fives and signed a few things for the kids right there at the entrance. He was the only one and he had ten times more things to go over and remember. I'll always be a fan....Hope he gets back to the old gun slinger he was.

Let me turn my dogs loose on M Vick and see how good he plays as QB. If he comes to Carolina, it will be the same as if Carolina doesn't have a team in the NFL. Cut his $$$$ off and see what else he can do to make a living like everyone else does in these times. His head won't even fit in a helment. He had his chance.

Jake seems to have been making all the mistakes that a rookie would make 2009 . He has been dealing with multiple injuries and just does'nt have the " fire" to be a contender in the post season. I wish him luck in his future endevors. But I'm glad to see him go.

In reading you peoples comments,it's not about the dog fighting, noooooo,it never was,it was about a young ,rich black man with money. Michael Vick got more injustice done to him than white folks who'd really created a crime. I'm not condoning what he did,but he did more time for an animal than people who have taken a humans life. I'm quite sure if he had been white and done the same thing,he wouldn't have gotten the same due. Here in the state oc NC, WE TEND TO BE TWO FACED WHEN IT COMES TO BLACK/WHITE JUDICIAL MATTERS.This is a very racist state to begin with,an all white jury with the death of a white policeman by a black man, just to mention. This is why we can't get certain industries with jobs in this state .. you still want the "old south " with 21st century ammenities ...it'll never work unless we as the people of this state change our racist attitudes. Vick would be the best thing for this stugglling franchise. We just want professional sports here ... it's not about putting a winning, succesful product out there, you're so galvanized with the "dope heads " in NASCAR. A dog over a human life,c'mon people, you give out liscense out to kill "animals" and that's SPORT to you. You people want your cake and eat it too. Look in your mirror Vick hatters ..do you like what you see? If you do you're just as gulty as Vick was! C'mon NC,BE BETTER THAN THAT;if Micael Jordan's take over of the Bobcats doesn't produce a winner you'll still have your"dope heads" in NASCAR ..WON'T YOU ? Get real,if you don't life's gonna pass us by.Yeah, we had one black QB,Rodney Peete(to camaflouge that we would have one),but you didn't surround him with competent talent like you did with "Jakey Bojangles" and you know it.It's time for management to standup and put a winner on the field or do we REALLY want to be winners? As I see it,as long as there's NASCAR,you are the winners!
You can always leave the state. I don't think there is a white person holding you here. You can go to one of the other 49 non-racist states out there. I am sure there was a white man holding a gun to his head when he was dog fighting and made him do it. As you say yourself he was a rich black man so why did he have to dog fight. Sounds like a mean spirit to me. As far as the all white jury goes. It is a racist attitude to think that an all white jury can't weigh the facts because of the color of their skin. So that makes you racist doesn't. Need to look in the mirror before you start yelling race and see who the real racist is.

I disagree agree with the whole dog fighting thing, or the fighting of any animals as that goes. People do stupid things, some never get caught and some do. Michael Vick got caught. In our society when you are caught you are judged, once judged, then sentenced.
Michael Vick received no special treatment here; he served time in jail for the crime he committed. The tragedy would be if he takes up doing it again. The success would be total rehabilitation and released back into society to become a productive citizen.
If your loved one committed a crime, was judged, sentenced, jailed, and after doing his or her time was released back into society, you would want for your loved one to have a fair chance. You would not want potential employers, or people in general shutting them out because of his or her past. Granted there are certain professions that people with records cannot go in to; playing foot ball is not one of them.
What if people punished you for life for every wrong you did?
If you disagree with Michael Vick being allowed to play football again, perhaps instead of focusing on his playing football, the panthers and the NFL, you should focus your energy on changing the current laws. You could also focus your energy on the people out there who are still engaging in this, or similar terrible crimes.

Poor Baby I feel so sorry for him NOT. I guess he will have to live on 20 million dollars. Wow I guess he will have to wipe his own butt now. Oh yeah I sorry he has been in the spot light for how long 7 plus years and how much is he worth? Retire loser and let us poor lower life forms really cry over the real world and not your play boy life.

Goodbye and good riddance Jake. This article is wrong as it says he had one bad year. Wrong, Jake cost us 2 years in a row, it is time for him to go. I'm glad because if they were going to start him this year I was switching teams. I can't take anymore of it.

What is up with you and your "morality". Vick was already a multi millionaire, whe he was doing his dogfighting. That means he wasn't doing for money( which is still despicable)he was doing it because he truly ENJOYED abusing animals and watching them rip eachother apart. Just because he served his time, does not mean we should forgive him. Right and wrong do not necesarily equate with the finer points of the law. Maybe if he served a longer more appropriate sentence, more of us would be willing to forgive him. As to not hearing about anything before the dog fighting thing, isnt that enough?- I mean c'mon, think about it- " oh, he didnt do a lot of bad things, he only did one really, really bad thing, over and over and set up a major operation to keep doing it" Does that really sound like moral justification. Have you ever seen the results of dog fighting? not just what they look like at the vets, but what they look like with all the blood, open wounds etc. Witness the after affects, then talk about forgiving him.
Ray Lewis was charged with murder! The taking of another human life. Compare that to what Mike Vick did, and they dont even come close to measuring up with each other. Ray Lewis now is one greatest middle linebackers to play the game and one of the most charitable man in the city of Baltimore just because he was given a second chance!

Ray Lewis wasn't the only murderer NFL Player..You remember Ray Carruth? Oh he played for Carolina and once he was even mentioned as a possible suspect in the murder he was released by the Panthers no questions asked. We had a kicker whos name escapes me but was a great addition to the team. He got a DWI and was released. Point is no matter how severe Vick's crime was the Panthers do not support bad behavior and will not sign him..end of story..Its been proven over and over again by Jerry Richardson. As mush as I wouldn't mind Michael Vick playing here It's not gonna happen..This is a dead story and it's Matt Moore's team to lead which after the way he played last season is fine with me!
