This is unfortunate really. Charles Gordon was probably the 2nd best corner on the team.

Unless there is something we don't know about the injury, this is a dumb move by the Vikings.

The injury must not be healing as they thought it should for them to waive him. He was their best nickel DB but I do like their third roudn draft pick Asher Allen. I think he has the ability to step into the nickel DB role right away.

This makes sense, makes room for Asher Allen, who will probably play a lot on Special Teams. I liked Gordon, but I understand. Another guy I expect to see on S T is the beast, Jasper Brinkley. He's a destroyer. With Allen, Farwell and Brinley, as well as those returning to special teams (providing they earn their slot), special teams will be hugely better. Brinkley and the guys will do some bangin'.

Crystal ball reviles... The Lions will pick him up, and he will have three interceptions against us and the Lions end their losing streak...

This the guy that had his ankle bent backwards at the Packer game last year.

I think his release is injury related. It can not be performace related as he was a pretty good return guy.

thanks

yeah, thats a tough break (excuse the pun) for gordon. i felt like he was our best nickel CB and was tenacious on special teams as well. asher allen coming in makes this a little easier of a decision but i still agree with swings...with a broken leg gordon is probably still better than mccauley

I know, all this Favre garbage has me confused. Was a 4th round draft pick trade for me for a reason? Dont know but it looks like a joke, much like this Brett debacle. Both of us will accomplish the same thing, no Lombardi Trophy.

All I know is helicopter maneuvers are fun.

That is too bad. I thought Gordon was an up-and-comer that could have helped the Vikings soft pass coverage this year. I hate to see a guy get cut because of an injury, but unfortunately that is the way it is in the NFL.

Its's no wonder why players want to renegotiate after a decent season. I hear all the time, "Well, you signed a contract, you should honor it." Get hurt and then the team doesn't honor the same contract? Gordon is/was a stud and will get back on the field for someone else.

Yes back to me. You fans need to see my Sears commercial. You can tell I am serious about wanting to play, shooting commercials and hanging with the local high school kids. Really looking forward to not taking this team to the Super Bowl.

This is a Head Scratcher, I was hoping he'd be ready. I know we've brought in a couple players, but I always liked the way Gordon played. He always contributed when he got his chance.

There may be more to the story, but how sad. Here is a guy who played well, suffered a gruesome injury, and probably lost his career at the expense of the team. Doesn't seem much of a "thanks" for his suffering.
