Signing Winfield, I believe is all the more important as he is part of the "Culture of Accountability". He, Birk and Sharpe have helped to develop this culture and veterans like him are needed for players like Harvin (and McKinney). The Vikes lost Birk & Sharpe, making Winfield indispensable.

This was a Solid Value Pick at this spot in the Draft. The Website I was on had him as the 46th Best Player in the Draft. If he's able to give a fraction of what Winfield has we hit a home run.

Really? I saw a few Georgia games on T.V. the past couple of years and I remember him to have made some really nice plays in the backfield. He fills hard against the run and a lot of his big plays were made around the line on scrimmage...both traits in which Winfield posses. Check out this video of him from nfl.com http://www.nfl.com/videos... - looks exactly like the type of guy who can thrive in the Vikings system.

If he "thrives" in the Vikings system then that makes one of us.

He said he ran a 4.33 at Georgia Pro Day. 4.48 at the combine. Seems rather fast to me.

How can you run a 4.33 one day and then not too much longer you runa 4.48? I would say that's quite a difference there.

He ran the POOR 4.48 at the combine a few weeks before UGA's Pro Day in which he was dealing with some hamstring problems. He ran the 4.33 on the same turn under same circumstances at UGA. I've watched him play since his freshman year and for the aggression that he plays with he hardly ever gave up a big play. I recall him as a freshman across from the likes of Calvin Johnson when the game was coming down to the wire and he pressed him as a freshman! I'd say he will be Pro Bowling soon!

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Cancer

Someone dear to your heart isn't exactly a barrel of laughs today, are they? Is it your imagination or are they taking a perverse delight in spreading doom and gloom in all directions? If they've got good reason to be miserable then they deserve your sympathy, but even so it may not last for long. Try to keep active and cheerful, otherwise you'll also develop a tendency to brood.
