We run the Tampa 2 defense. I can think of a linebacker that comes from Tampa that just might help us. Does the name Brooks come to mind? Just a thought.....

We won the division without him last year, yes this is a setback but it is not the end of the season, EJ was struggling this year.

Are there any LBs available to possibly sign other than Brooks? I think Brooks is a bit to old now.

I'd like to think we have enough athletes on the roster to help a young kid like Brinkley succeed. Will he do everything EJ did? Probably not right away. But from what I saw while he was at USC (the southeastern version, anyway) and in camp, he'll do just fine. He's smart, fast, and tough, and that makes up for a lot of things. Its up to the other 10 on the field to help him out until he gets comfortable out there. A tough test coming up against the Bengals, but my money is still on the Vikings at home.

Leber will, once again, prove his worth and help fill this void. I'm excited to see what Jasper can do with backing from Leber and Greenway. We're on our way up there this weekend to see the game. I look for the Vikings to click on all cylinders. Coming home after a bad game in which you lost a key player--and having to listen to the NFL media and the Pukers' "fans" dismiss you as un-Super Bowl worthy--is just the type of motivation this team needs for the rest of the season. Watch for Jared Allen to turn it on! And AD...watch out! It's the 4th quarter of the season, baby! Skol Vikes!

Maybe Klink will break his leg and the Vikings can replace him with a real coach.

I havn't seen any other posts, but if you think the Vikings will miss a step with Brinkley in there, then you havn't watch SEC football over the last few seasons. Brinkley is thicker, a harder hitter, possibly faster. The only thing that would worry me would be Brinkley is him being out of position on passing downs. I have a feeling the Vikes will help him on those downs by either taking him out or have him blitz. The Vikes will be fine. They just need to get passed the Bengals to get the taste of "buttwhoppin" out of their mouths. Best Wishes EJ!!

If we could change Greenways name to Stoller and put him with Leber,,,, that would be a linebacking combo.

Leber and Stoller!

We found out our pass defense was bad and if we don't get better hello DRAFT. Either stop receivers from cathing every pass as the cards did or we'll be watching the playoff's from the tv. go vikings.

Jasper Brinkley can flat-out hit and play. Just YouTube some of his hits when he was at South Carolina. The article is right, pre-injury in college, he was a 2nd round pick. He will be better than EJ Henderson in 2 years.

I know HITMAN personally we grew up together and played high school football together. I can promise all vikes fans one thing HITMAN will go hard every down no one will outwork him. He has something to prove to all those who over looked him in the draft. Go get them HITMAN!!!!

I'm sad for Henderson, but excited to see what Brinkley can do. You never know... Sometimes these injury situations launch the careers of new star players.
Remember when Drew Bledsoe got hurt in 2001? His replacement did OK... Still, hope Henderson can come back healthy enough to end his career on his terms, and not from a freak injury.

Just googled "Jasper Brinkley" and watched a few videos from his 2008 college days. Man, this guy brings a serious load of hurt on his tackles. I see no reason to worry about how he will play next Sunday. The Vikings have got themselves another hard-hitting beast of a middle linebacker, that's what.

Klink breaking a leg is not something I'd hope for, but with the new contract how will he ever be replaced by a real coach?

The game agaist the Cards demonstrated his incompetance. The Vikes have about 20 very good to excellent players, yet he can't put it together and he can't manage a game.
