Is this Klink and his personality of a clogged toilet, crappy coaching and ability to alienate his players by being an *ss, or is Edwards still an under acheiving crybaby, or some of both. Seriously, I am interested in opinions.

booo hooo, he needs to prove him self for any other team to pick him up. For those so called high dollars, other teams see J.Allen as the one that allowed Edwards to get those sacks. So I think if he wants the big money to come his way , he needs to prove it.

Ray Edwards first should learn to play like julius peppers, then he can compare himself to him..Im sure he will achieve much more becoming a professional boxer

Boo hoo - poor Ray. With the Williams Wall and Allen on the D-line, Edwards faces single coverage constantly and should easily be a double-digit sack guy. He's an average DE and should be paid like one. I hope he has a career year, helps the Vikes win a Super Bowl and then gets his deal with some team that panics and overpays. I've always felt Robison was as good or better than Edwards anyway.

Think maybe the uncertain labor situation has some bearing on this decision to not give you a gigantic contract last year? Crybaby. Just another greedy athlete wanting to be paid way more than he deserves.

WOW! He picks the second week of the season to run his mouth about a long term deal. He's only had 1 productive season! didn't see much of him last week, thats for sure! Don't get me wrong, I hope the Vikings retain him, but these players get more and more selfish every day. NFL is all about the 'me'... Really fool?? 8.5 sacks in 1 season doesn't put you in the Julius Peppers, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Aaron Kampman catagories just yet! Go win! T E A M!!

He may be right.I say it all depends on how he plays this year. Were really deep on defense with Brian Robison ,Jayme Mitchell and Everson Griffen waiting in the wings.

Honestly- it wasn't even a full good season. He had a couple of good games and one excellent game in the playoffs. Where was he last week in New Orleans? Ray, you aren't thqat good. You are an average (at best) back-up D lineman.

Ray,
Don't be such a crybaby. What have you done so far to think you deserve the "big payday"? Why not keep your mouth shut, put up about 12 sacks, and then see how it all shakes out after the season.
Nice player, and a guy I would like to keep, but he feels he has to put his opinion out there every time he feels slighted.

Let him go. He's not going to ever be a premier DE. Only reason he got as much as he did last year was because he's got 3 of the best next to him. Put him on a mediocre line and he'll be just another loudmouth bust. We've got plenty of folks that are ready to take over that spot.

News for Edwards, its not just to him that he is not one of the high profile guys.

Maybe he should focus on performing instead of talking.

Whether Edwards wants to stay with the Vikings or wants to be on another team next year, the only thing that will get him a Julius Peppers-sized deal is to put up Jared Allen-sized sack numbers. DEs get paid to sack the QB first and foremost, and then to get tackles. If Edwards can produce 13-15 sacks this year, he'll make big bucks next year with the Vikes or someone else. If he has 4 or 5 sacks, no one will pay him more than what he's getting now. Gee, only $2.5 million. How can he buy peanut butter on that?

leave him alone...he needs to concentrate on Football. If he produces, you can bet MN will take care of him....but there are guys waiting in the wings to take over if he doesn't produce.

Get the heck out of of here....So sick and tired of athletes "complaining and moaning" about the "they do not want me here" bs.
What about if you honor your contract like the rest of us? How about if you are a team player and void this talk until the end of the season? What about if you produce what you are suppose to? What about if you are a little more humble and be thankful for where you are at.
Again Ray, do not let the door hit you in the a$$.

Doesn't matter how well he plays this year, he's out. Too much depth of equal talent and cheaper paychecks. Pat Williams and Brett Favre bowing out after this year will give some relief to the Vikings wallet. Depth at LB might be the end to Leber. Greenway and Peterson need extended. Rice......IDK. He's only played ONE full season out of four. I DO KNOW that we have an overpaid FS and WR that hurts the wallets. QB and OL have to be priorities one and two this coming off season. Thats why I'm leary of giving up a couple picks for Vincent Jackson. Definitely be an interesting off-season. I would like to enjoy this season at hand first. GREG CAMARILLO !!!!!!!
