Brett may have a hard time walking away from the game, and it may upset people that he keeps going back and forth. when you reach your 40 which i have. its got to be hard to go out there and get hit by those young bucks every week. it s clear to me he loves the game of foot ball. hang in there brett

I was listening to a couple local sports radio hosts here in Vegas who offered some good insights on Favre.

They are convinced that Favre did NOT waffle on his retirement decision, but instead only SAID he was staying retired to avoid training camp, insisting that the Vikings knew in advance he was going to sign before the start of the regular season. The idea was, if Favre was under contract for camp but not there, he'd be fined daily by the league. The other suggestion was that Childress slipped him a playbook to study while he waited out the camp period. Who knows?

My only worry was that Favre could alientate other veteran players by not being there slugging it out through training camp. But, you know what they say about winning...

Besides, when you consider Favre's history, he hasn't been a guy to ditch training camp throughout his career, just in these past couple years when he's talked retirement. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one, and chalk it up to preserving his arm for the season. They do the same thing with starting pitchers in baseball, so there's got to be some merit to that.

Hey! It isn't going to be any louder at Lambeau than it was in the Dome. Skol Vikings.
Loudness really has little bearing on the game, and FYI, The packers do not amplify the crowd noise. I always thought that was weird for the Vikes to do.
