There are 88 comments on the TwinCities.com story from Sep 8, 2010, titled NFC championship game: What if ...?. In it, TwinCities.com reports that:

What if the Minnesota Vikings had not put 12 men in the huddle late in the NFC championship game? What if there had been no mental meltdown, no penalty, and they just had done the expected and run the ball on third and long from the Saints' 33-yard line with 19 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of a 28-28 game? What if there had been no Brett ...

Couldn't agree more. Gotta give the Saints credit for coming out and running the ball effectively in the 2nd half. Pat Williams looked old, and you are right, our offense looked rusty. On the positive side though, with 2 good DB's out, we held the Saints to 14. Also AP looked good and ran hard with not much blocking. Oh well, one game, lots of season left, and Favre and the WR's need to get in a groove.
The Saints O line was amazing on that one drive- simply pushing Pat Williams out of the way-

Think Pat was grouchy on the flight home?

On the other hand, if something is working, DON'T change it.
Just as AD was getting ready to break one, Childo took him out of the game. He didn't touch the ball in the 4th qtr.
We have a complete idiot as a head coach, still.
(sorry for my cutting the rest of your flowers to the Saints fan eric, I didn't want to read them again.)
Very true- the Vikes had some things working last night- AP showed why he is an all star RB- and I agree- why stop the run game in the 2nd half?

I made a bet, I have to pay up. The Saints played a good clean game-

WHO DAT win the season opener? SAINTS TRUE DAT!
Congrats Charlie- your team looked good tonight, Brees was sharp, the "D" played tough and clean, your Oline was awesome- and perhaps most impressive was the coaching, the adjustments made throughout the game.
On our side, the first word that comes to mind is RUST- it was abundantly clear the wideouts and Farve were nowhere near on the same page. There were some flashes-Camarillo came in too late to really help- but Harvin stunk it up.
I take away from this game the Vikes need more practice to get in synch. I think they will- Also the playcalling got a little too vanilla- if somethings not working, change it-
I wish we could have opened with Detoilet instead of you guys- oh well-
Thanks Eric , the vikes are too good to stay down for long.

I dont know, but he was pretty much invisible during the game. I watched some replays today and it looks like our d-tackles would both slant in the same direction, creating an even bigger hole for the RB. How bout we tell them next game, "just go straight forward, no slants"?

What d-line starter's name did you hear? No pressure on Brees all night.
