Are they kidding? I lost my license for 5 months, served two years of probation, served 40 hrs of community service, and had to take ARD classes and drug and alcohol counseling. What a freakin joke the judicial system is. I'm not from MN but who cares. Is the NFL gonna suspend him or anything? Happy he's still playing but, WTF. The states and country their in have their priorities screwed up. And it happened way, way before Obama got in office.

THE WHOLE STORY- Griffin pulled over to the side of the road and parked his car, because he felt he had too much to drink and shouldn't drive. He was attempting to sleep it off, when the cops showed up, made him blow in the booze kazoo, and cited him for DUI. Even though he WASN'T DRIVING. That is probably a large factor of why he got 2 days community service and probation instead of getting cornholed like anyone else who gets a DUI. 7393

The article should also mention the DMV sanctions for 1st time DUI -- if he plead guilty he lost his driver's license for 30 days (a limited "work permit" license available in 2 weeks allowing only driving to/from work). If he didn't plead guilty he'd lose his license for 6 months (half of which would be the "work permit" period. . Additionally, the fee for renewing one's license is $700. . If they think you might have a drinking problem, then it gets really expensive -- they force you into outpatient treatment ($3000+). The outpatient treatment clinic will almost certainly find you "alcohol dependent" which will make you ineligible for private individual health care insurance. And of course future employers, seeing the alcohol dependency diagnosis will be wary of you. . Your auto insurance premium will at least double. . A lawyer costs a minimum of $2,000.

Even those who had a first time offens have been popped for DWI the same way got far more stiff penalties than that. Just another special treatment factor.

I thought the Vikes had signed a new player when I was watching the Monday Night Game. Nice haircut on Griffin! Now I know why. He had a court appearance and someone must've told him to get rid of his long locks to look better in front of the judge. i bet he grows 'em right back. just as phony as his "sentence." If the Vikes were 0-4, I wonder if he would've skated like he did? Just another example of the way the famous get coddled by the legal system. And I applaud his wisdom of pulling his car over, but why get behind the wheel when you know you are blotto? The money these guys make, why not call a cab or hire a damn limo if you're gonna get likkered up? Bad judgment from a marginal to average NFL player. And yes, I would think this violates the NFL's players code of conduct so he may need the Williams' Wall to protect him from being suspended. One of these days the Vikes will only field one player on D because all the others will have violated either society's or the NFL's dictums. I'm just glad he didn't kill or maim anyone. Guyz c'mon! Wake the eff up! You are not privileged enough to avoid murder charges! Jeez I'm sick of this crap! That goes for everyone else too! Drink till you can't see straight, I don't care. It's your life. But when you get behind the wheel after you do that, you are just pathetic! No excuse is good enough if you drive impaired. Every driving while intoxicated loser should have the book thrown at them. Cedric you have been given much in life. Try giving back for once instead of being a cliche.

I remember watching Cedric, his wife and two children on Vikings weekly and both of them saying that they were Christians. Well, we who read and study God's word know that God tells you to stay away from all alcohol and strong drink at least 18 times throughout the Bible. If you are of God, then we are to stay away from fleshy, worldly things. I am hoping that he is repenting with prayer. We all make mistakes but you are suppose to learn from them and not do them again. My church will pray for the Griffin family.

The Vikings ship would have to sink to 20 fathoms under the sea just to get a glimps of the Hackers. How's J. Jolley' drug case coming along? What about Barnett, has he beaten any women up lately? Cedric messed up, hired an attorney, and got community service. Any one of you round heads would have done the same thing in his shoes. If it happens again, throw the book at him.

You shouldn't be commenting on anything to do with alcohol, the majority of cheeseheads do nothing but drink, literally their only hobbies - packers, drinking, and maybe for the more successful cheeseheads - snowmobiling. So please shut your pie hole dimwit.

I would like to see the 18 times the bible tells you to stay away from "all" alcohol? Have you ever read the book? How about the wedding account where Jesus turns the water into wine? Or where it talks about wine being good for the stomach in Timothy? Being drunk is condemned in the bible, but not all alcohol.
