This is what happens when you allow certain players to miss training camp. Everyone and I mean everyone should be there and if not, they shouldn't be on the team. I don't blame our guys for slackin' around in camp and nursing their minor injuries. Klink has no control of this team whatsoever.

Same goes with AD's contract. How do you think he feels when less than a day after BF's apparent retirement, the Vikes are publicly offering more money for him to come back. If Favre's worth 16 mil a year so is Peterson. Just get your diva ass to camp BF and that will solve everything!

Peterson is not worth as much as Favre. Not right now, not by a long shot.

I am gonna take another angle and say maybe this is a blessing, I mean look at what happened to Dumervil yesterday, tore a pec. muscle at camp and is out for the season, do you really want your valuable skilled core players going at it hard in camp, just sayin'.

You take AD out of our offense and BF doesn't have close to the season he had last year. OK, BF may be slightly more valuable then AD right now but I think your missing my point. Peterson is arguably the best RB in the league, and the amount of money the organization is prepared to throw around like its nothing for Favre to stay is ridiculous. Really, it must frustrate the hell out of Peterson. I can see why all of sudden he's talking contract, I don't blame him.

Fudge these guys are all in camp, Rice is on the PUP, Harvin is missing some camp time due to a death in the family and Peterson has been sitting out nursing some minor injuries but he is in camp. I don't think you can blame Favre for every player missing camp either, players hold out all the time due to contract disputes, hell look at Revis for the Jets right now for instance. But I see your point and I too would love to see Favre there, even if it is just to work on some timing stuff.

Childress doesn't get it. These guys are probably thinking if Favre has his excuse i'll come up with my own.

"The rule also prohibits players from "launching" or leaving their feet to make a tackle."
So, does that mean if you catch someone from behind you can't dive and wrap up their legs? Sheesh.

Come on Childress,

1 - You are not the coach of the Vikings... Favre is.....!!!!!
2 - Harvin and Peterson see that Brett does not need practice, so they figure they don't either.... Give em a break. Following team rules you know.

Let me throw this out there:

Does anybody think it strange that the 5 most skilled offensive players, not just starters but the best players, are NOT practicing at the same time? Favre, Peterson, Rice, Berrian and Harvin (because of a death int he family). All of them are out at the same time and all of their backups, rookies and such are getting a lot of extra time.

The coaches say they want them in and practising but then at the same time say they did well last year and know the system already.

Maybe Favre is showing these guys they don't haveto beat themselves up at camp and still come in and be fresh for the season opener.

There is a lot of talk aobut extending the season a couple games and shortening the pre-season. Maybe there is a method to this madness.

For example, no one knows, or says, what is wrong with Rices hip. Peterson has "tight legs". Berrian is what, stretching his hamstrings?

I think there may be more to this than is being let on.

This certainly doesn't look like a team that is prepared to make any kind of a serious playoff run. Where is the desire? Where is the focus? More importantly who is the QB?

Typical Viking team. Lots of talent but nobody capable of pulling it all together and focusing it on one goal.

Peterson v. Favre

End of the game? I'd rather put the ball in Favre's hands than AP's.

Take Favre out, you got Jackson and Interceptionfels.

Take AP out, and you have Gerhart, Young, Reynaud, etc.

Ap is putting the cart before the horse. He needs to prove he can hold on to the ball before he starts pouting like a primadonna.

Favers last 3 meaningful end of the season do or die passes have been intercepted. And you would want him to have the ball ? Are you nuts ? If Jackson would have been your QB on that last WONERFUL play your Bi Queens would have went to the Super Bowl... Period. He would have run with the ball/// PERIOD...... He may even would have tried to count to 11 and found out there was still a guy left after he counted that high...... GEAT REAL

Don't kill your players in camp, especially your star players.
One more thing, if Favre is in camp what is he going to do? Run wind-limps with the linemen? Come on folks. Most teams don't push the veterans very hard in camp. There are reasons for it.

Guys, stop and think a minute. The SAINTS practice field is about an hour's drive from Farve's place. The local media is a frenzy for a repeat constantly replaying the whooping he got in the NFCC game. He doesn't want another ! Vikes have no OL...now no WR and now an RB with monthly cramps!!
The Saints are all in camp foaming at the mouth to put the Vikes in their place once again.

WHO DAT !!
