I just hope that Childress doesnt ruin Joe Webb like he did Tarvaris.Jackson is so afraid of going outside of Childress game plan that he takes a sack or throws an interception rather than do something on his own to win the game.

I agree Jackson wouldnt be here if it wasnt for Childress.Did you see that game when Webb took off running.Childress was all ticked off even though we got a touchdown.Just ask Gus Frerotte or Brad Johnson how controlling Childress is.Its his way or the highway unless youre Brett Favre.

he also drove Matt Birk out of here, oh how we could use him now. It has to eat chilly up kissing Bretts butt , and thats due to zygi wanting a new stadium and forcing childress to accept Favre at any terms

Luckily or unluckily as the case may be, if the window for Minny success wasn't so small, I would've hoped that Favre retired and left Chilly to his football fantasy of having Tjoke be the next McNabb....NOT. We wold have got rid of Chilly and TJoke at the same end of the season housecleaning. Seeing that the Pack are poised (with a real Q'back) to be the dominate team in the North for the next decade, we can take our shot this year with the ramblin' Mississippian and then take our blood CURDling medicine for the next 10 years...in a year or two, Peterson will leave for Detroit tired of a lack of a Q'back to protect him from 9 man fronts....as much scorn as we heap upon Tjoke, the tJoke will be on the purple as his reign of mediocricy will start soon enough...

New Coach New Owner wrote:
Straight forward TJ sucks, and he couldn't be a starter on any other team except maybe the Raiders. The owner and coach spend to much time hoping for Favre to comeback, so they give him more money so he can change his mind. We need to spend money on a QB that is young, so he can be the franchise QB and not be over 35. Look at the prior ones McMahon, Cunningham, and Moon. We haven't had a good coach since Green, Tice was good, but to much player and not enough coach. Get rid of Childress and get someone else who can make the right decisions. Green wanted that power and he got fired, so he went to Az and built that team up. BTW the Vikings QB next year will be McNabb.
im not refuting your statement neccesarily but , i can name about 90 qbs that have been in the league as long or longer than T jack that havent won a superbowl either. whod of thought trent dilfer would win a sb .

Childress is no different than most coaches in this regard. Bill Walsh used to draw up the first 18-20 plays of each game and Joe Montana wasn't supposed to change them up whatsoever. Coaches oftentimes want to see how a defense will react to a certain offensive look in an attempt to set them up for later. Freelancing QB's make that much more difficult. Holmgren was notorious for screaming at Favre when he freelanced early in his career. Sure QB's aren't robots and we wouldn't enjoy the game if they were. But football is like a chess match and if your rook and king aren't acting like they are supposed to you'll lose.

How can you compare Jackson's performance in the preseason games to what Rosenfels did...I mean Rosenfels got nearly 3 times the snaps that Jackson got, so it stands to reason that he would would the better snaps. More snaps, the opportunities you have to put up good numbers. I can't help but think part of this anti Jackson things in Minnesota is borderline racial undertones.

no, it has more to do with impatient fans . everyone liked cullpepper , moon, cunningham. and would probably welcome mcnab or vick to. everyone seems to like webb , half the team is african american etc. denny green had a long leash , i think jackson was thrown in a spot he doesnt deserve to get criticised for. he never made any claims or demands. the vikes picked him thats not his fault or his fault the vikes were in a spot since cullpepper went down still havent recovered from that yet .

I agree with you but theres such a thing as going overboard.Im not a coach but prior to Favre being here 9 out of 10 times I could tell you what the next play was going to be so im sure the other team knew too.

I think Jackson could be better if they let him use his feet to buy some time instead of trying to make him into a pocket passer.
