Tough day. Colt Anderson was on fire against Denver. The wide receiver position will be interesting after TJ snub us last year.

Protecting Bret is #1 priority. Get a humongous offensive lineman. Then get a deep threat wideout and a cornerback/special teams player. Other than these the roster looks good but not yet great. Is it really hard for the Vikings Management to put together a Super Bowl winner. A half a century without 1 Super Bowl win. Hey Vikes, don't settle to be a good team. Strive to be a great team. No more injury excuses. Make things happen.

hey BM, that is true.... but it would be nice to have him. i know he's not the same player he used to be, but cut Javon Walker and sign TJ? that's a HUGE upgrade. no one in their right mind could argue otherwise. so yes, it would be very, very nice to have him. he also would allow Berrian to go back to being our #3 WR for now, where he torched the Saints. don't expect the same performance if he's our #2.

Are there any gigantic offensive lineman out there? Any Randy Moss -type of player? How about a cornerback/return specialist/special teams player?

Good post, and I agree on the upgrade part.

The reason I don't think they need or will pursue Houshmanladygaga is this:

When they missed out on him last year, they responded by drafting Harvin.

When Rice went out after his surgery, they moved Harvin to Rice's spot to cover for the short term, and brought in Camarillo to cover the slot.

So, if they add Houshmanwhatshisface, they'll have 3 WR's ideally suited for the same crowded position. That's why I don't see it.

Now, with only 4 WR's left after today's cuts, I won't be surprised if they go after SOMEONE. But Housh? Seems like they really need a guy better suited for the outside. Someone to help cover Rice when they want to use Harvin elsewhere (or when he's dealing with the migraines), and to back up Berrian, who has been dealing with injuries and dropped balls for the past year. A guy who might actually stay on the roster after Rice returns.

Packers suck.

Biggest need is a humongous offensive lineman. Then Houshmandzadeh, Randy Moss or whoever, then a cornerback/special teams/return specialist. Are these unattainable goals for the Vikings Management? If Bret goes down, then no stadium, and no Super Bowl. Perhaps Vikes need to consult with LA Lakers or New York Yankees on how to put a winning team together.

I agree that the o-line could stand an upgrade, but I don't think bigger means better- the Dallas Cowboys o-line is huge- but in the playoff game in Minnesota allowed 6 sacks-

Denver, back in their Superbowl winning days had a lightweight o-line, but they were effective due to the schemes they employed, and the talented players that carried them out.

Lito posts the exact same line over, and over again.
A 6-5, 340# offensive lineman, or something to that effect.
I'd give him a pass if it weren't for the repetition.

Because of childress bone head move-we now have to look for any quailty qb-t jackson is not the answer-maybe we can still get rid of him. As for houshmandzadeh-yes we can still use his talents but doubt childress has the brains to get him..klinkers time to go and take tj with him!!!

this just shows how clueless clueless is on running a team and the wilfs are just enabling this kind of behavior. clueless keeps eagles rejects and t-joke which must have pics of a certain farm animal "bahhhhaa, baahhhhhaaaaaa" then cuts players he said he wouldnt cut... I.E. ryan D'imperio which clueless was so high on.. they should have cut greg lewis, put him on the practice squad and kept javon walker. if it wouldnt work with walker cut him then bring up greg lewis from practice squad. this so called coaching staff makes things harder han it has to be. ooppppss forgot, YOU GOT TO HAVE COMMON SENSE!!!!!!!

If you like, I'll like you to the slanderous posts from 'WHATEVER 2' that I am merely responding to here.

As for letting sleeping dogs lie, why don't YOU stick to the posts YOU like to read, while ignoring those you don't?

Telling me to knock it off simply because YOU don't like it will only make me want to continue, just to remind you that you are not the only one with the right to have and express an opinion here.

Why DO you do that, anyway? Why do you think only YOUR opinion matters?

That's very off-putting.

ummm Lito - we have 2 humungous offensive lineman in loadholt and mckinney. Funny thing is they get burnt good by guys like julias peppers, demarcus ware, etc... Huge guys dont mean the qb will be protected. They need smaller guys who are quicker on their feet and get better leverage on people. Mckinney and other mountains get embarrassed by good pass rushers. Too slow. Vikes will be relying on their defense to win them games as usual due to this. You could put jon gruden in there for qb and we'd get the same results. A guy running for his life or sacked. Regardless, vikes will still be the best team in the nfc north - AGAIN

Vikings Management struggle to listen to fans. Glaring needs are a humongous offensive lineman, a Randy Moss type of receiver, and a cornerback/special teams/return specialist. Sullivan and Herrera are weak links in the offensive wall. How long do you think that Bret is going to hold-up? One quarter, 16 games? If they do reach the playoffs or the SB, will he be healthy to play? Vikes, please no injury excuses. You don't listen to fans.

What company really listens to their customers? Give me a break! The Vikings will do what they feel is best for their team and their situation. They could careless about what a few wannabe football gurus have to say about their team's future.

There is no "Randy Moss" type players available otherwise they would already be signed by someone. As for needing a humongous offensive lineman, they just need Sulivan to get over his "owie" and get back at center. Mckinnie is a good tackle, its the play calling that will get Favre hurt in the first 3 games~

Sheppard is an over the hill hack and trading Benny Sapps didn't do the backfield any favors. Griffin isn't coming back this year if at all~

Word from Winter Park is that Favre asked management to bring in
Walker as a reciever. They say Favre though Mills was abetter option
at tight end, and that Farve thought Sage was helpfull on the sidelines
when they would go over pics of the plays taken during the games. When
that was going on T-Joke would be sitting on the bench yucking it
up with his pals.

Long story short .......... Klink got rid of those three to stick
a finger in Favres eye........ Enjoy the season.

I totally understand trading off Sage for the money. Never could have gotten the team that much for TJ. Now if Favr goes down TJ will go in and try yet again to do the job for the team. This must be the last chance TJ gets. It will take Webb two or three years to get up to speed. Remember he is still a rookie QB in the NFL. Non the less he is big, streng, fast, and can think and run at the same time. Some day he will make an ecellent QB for some NFL team.

Right now the weakest kink on the Vikings team is the O-Line. They simply can not block very well for the QB or the running backs. Childress should notice that at some point. I noticed it three years ago. Yes that's right Peterson should be getting much more yardage than he is. And our QB's should not be getting knock flat on their backs so much.

We need an outside burner that can hang on to the ball. He doesn't have to be great, just good enough. I wouldn't be surprised if we offered up a D-lineman in trade for a decent WR, CB, or OL; ten seems like a lot to carry on the squad.
