Doggone it, maybe UTEP's defendsive secondary shouldn't have been to eager to face the Houston offensive jaugernaut! Ha, ha, ha, ha!
Coach Price told everyone that this was the best team he had since he's been here?
He was kidding, wasn't he? I wonder how many gullible UTEP fans swallowed Price's hook?
It was painful watching Vittatoe's innefectiveness,(he looked timid and shy, and just plain scared), and the defense's futile attempt at tackling! They were manhandled, trampled on, and disassembled by the Houston offense!
I really felt ashamed and embarrased watching UTEP getting poleaxed, with an entire nation witness to UTEP's dismantling!

So does the UTEP footbal team! They merely resemble a team!
UTEP wasn'r prepared, looked like the proverbial deer in the headlights!
No defense, and the QB playing worse than last year! John Teicher was bragging about how good Vittatoe played. What?
I guess the only way Price will replace Vittatoe is if he, Vittatoe, gets hurt! Other than that reason, Price is too stubborn to give another QB a chance!
Also, denfensive coach Patterson was the worse choice Price could have made to try and change UTEP's defnsive woes! They're worse than last year!
The defense looked lost, played out of position, overran plays, tackled poorly, and just showed what a dismal defensive squad UTEP has!
WOW, more of the same it looks like for this season! There goes our enthusiasm!
Oh, one more thing, someone posted, "ok, so UTEP can't handle the Houston high octane offense"! Well, UTEP's last game against Arkansas Pine Bluff last week was a harbinger of things to come!
Bad things defensively, that is!

I hate it when people don't acknowledge the fact that UTEP is a bad football team in Division 1 football.
It's cool to see the optimists remain hopeful and have faith. But at some point in time, you just have to accept the reality for what it is.
You have a tired old haggard coach,
Can't seem to get Grade A or B talent
There is no defense.
Its like being the LA Clippers to where you are built on losing seasons and the winnning seasons or successful .500 seasons are far and few in between.
All you UTEP fans, just don't get mad or take offense when people sound like they are knocking the football team. They aren't taking cheap shots. Look outside the box, do the math, lookup the stats from the past to the is what it is......UTEP is not a good football team.
And if you set yourself up with high expectations (bowl game, winning season) than that's on you.
P.S. Since 2006...UTEP had been 3rd to last in total defense in Conference USA.
It was cool until you said "it is what it is." Anyway, UTEP was in a bowl in 2005 and 2004. We have some expectations(if Colorado hadn't pulled off that punt FAKE, we wouldn't be as enamored with our Miners). NMSU hasn't bowled in more than a decade, and UNM can't win the one in Albuquerque ... the one on their field. To some of us UTEP Miner Football fans, that's all that matters. Sure, we'd love to beat more ranked teams, like Houston last year. But it's exhilarating to see them come close. Thanks for the stats.
