The story is the Eagles and the Cardinals had a deal involving Larry Fitz but at the last minute, the Cards pulled back. Any truth to that?

Well you can add stupid to the mix. And why should Fitz "help" an ahole owner like Bidwell who would cut him in heart beat if he got hurt. Trade him now and get something back.

The only way your going to win Fitz, is with the Eagles and McNabb. A real owner, GM and QB. Don't budge. The cards were stupid enough to give you that bloated contract make them cut the whole team to keep you. The Eagles have managed their cap to stay competitive all decade. Go to a winner.

There should always be an understanding between player and mgmt. that contracts need to be altered to field a winning team. That being said, it should also be understood by mgmt. that the total value of a contract must be paid in full. Pay me now, or pay me later. When a contract is backloaded, like Fitzgerald's, their needs to be a plan in place to renew the contract if the incentives are all achieved. The Cardinals apparently, did not plan for the contract to be renegotiated or did not think he would reach his incentives.
