I am a Jet fan for many years, and I hate to say this, but they deserved to lose the game on Sunday. Now don't get me wrong, I am glad they won, but the way they played, it was un-inspired football. They should have destroyed KC. And I will say this, if they don't make the playoffs, there will be many changes coming.
Perhaps even the head coach and certainly the offensive co-ordinator.

I've been a defender of Mangini this year, but after that performance and most of baffling play calling (most bizzarre I've ever seen), WJ should start looking for a new head coach.
Boland, please confront Mangini atthe next Q&A and let him know how outraged fans seem to be. Especially with going shotgun on 3rd and 1 or 2 so many times when Favre stunk and they had the ability to run the ball.

Worst case......Leon runs back the punt in 4th Q to KC 47 yard line, 5 mins left...down by 3.....and you go to the SHOTGUN?....and pass on 1st down? What?

I have been a Mangini guy as well but he seems to not have a clue. You pick-up some elite offensive linemen in the off season and you as a coach do not have the confidence in getting 1-2 yards with a run play on third down, how about calling a run play and giving Farve the option to call a pass play depending on what HE SEES. Mangini and Shot seem to out think what is going on, they expect the Chiefs, who have a terrible run defense, to be expecting the Jets to run the football, so the brilliant Jet coaching staff puts a game plan together to throw the ball..??? How about make the Cheifs stop the run Jones, Washington, Chatam, even Smith. then adjust if it's not working. OH ADJUST no we have to stick to our terrible game plan!!! Very frustrating. I can's stand Belichek (Spelling?) but his team is always prepared and the coaches are constantly adjusting to what is going on out on the field and the personnel. GO JETS!

I agree with the three pervious posts. I also like Mangini, but common. Pull the raines in on Schottenhiemer, this game plan specific/ no adjust offense is making me sick. I would love to see us adjust to whats happening, not whats expected to happen. I imagine the Chiefs were relieved that we let them off the hook Sunday. The game should of been over when we had third and 2 in the red zone. But no... we empty the backfield? Why? We should of ran it two times. Worst case senario, we give it back to them deep in their own end. I would rather be conservative then have blind, and unfounded aggression. GO JETS...

What about Sutton you guys. He is the worst d-co I've seen for a while in NY. We let 3 of the most unexperienced QB's(Cassell/Russel/Thigpen) have all day in the pocket and pick us apart. We never force turnovers because they never blitz. We scare no one in this league. We are consistently at the bottom of the defensive rankings since hes been here. The only reason we rank high against the run is because of Jenkins

I agree Patrick, Sutton leaves a lot to be desired, but the offensive schemes are what bothers me, not the talent. Talent wise we have a much better than average team, but you can't see it with the constantly bizarre play-calling from Shottenhiemer. This was the first week I have seen the coaches blatantly, under-value, under-estimate and totally missuse our players. If this continues, Farve will leave on a streacher! I still think we should be aggressive on offense, but that aggression needs to be well timed, and safe. Aggression should not be used carelessly like what happened Sunday; if we kicked a field goal toward the end, and had better offensive time management we would of won gracefully instead of luckily.
