Jets' Jenkins feels responsible for loss to Broncos
#1 Dec 5, 2008
While admirable of Jenkins to single out his own poor performance, the Jets, by their uninspired play against the mediocre Broncos, showed they have lots more to worry about than just an individual off-game. With that disaster of a game, the entire team became suspect once again - as if there was no prior five-game win streak. That's the way it is with Jets' teams; they never are what you hope they are. Now, even a steam-roller win over the 49ers will make no statement. Now, only by winning 3 of the final 4 games in high-caliber fashion can the Jets return to pre-Broncos euphoria. Until the next pivotal game. The Denver game now places Mangini under a huge microscope. The game served as an early red flag and gives him and his coaches time to make adjustments. Any legitimate playoff-bound team should have few problems winning 3 of the last 4 games. Failure to make it happen will make Mangini's stock as worthless as GM's.
