Division games are always tough, never a gimme. Johnson is terrific but the Vikes have a superior team this year. Favored by 10 on the road, wow, that's a lot of points. Us and Green Bay could both be 3-0 by Oct. 5th.

Im hopeing the VIKES rolls over Detroit & takes over the division . Theres a chance Cincinnati goes into greenbay & wins that game., There WRs are a lot better then the Bears & the Bears almost beat the pack. & Carson can get hot! & to see Ochocinco do the lambeau leap would be something i would like to see ./ GO VIKINGS

While I'm a Shiancoe fan, he's not the right interview. Let's have some smack'm in the mouth promises from Pat Williams.

I agree the Bengals have more to offer offensively.
But the Bengals defense is average at best and Aaron
Big Bird Beak Rogers will shred that defense for a victory.
I hope your right and I am wrong because I really would like to see that team go up in flames this season along with their relive the glory days fans.

It would take a minor miracle for the Bungles to beat GB in Lamebo, but the Vikes will trash the Pack twice and Matt Stafford is saving his "coming out" party for the (GB-nose) Pickers.
It's just as well this way - the Packer's big slide will start on Oct. 5th - when they figure out that they're just not good enough to beat Favre or the Vikes. Oh, life is sweet!

Way too many chickens being counted by my purple brethren at this stage. We are far, far from a well-oiled machine on offense yet ourselves. This is a road game in the NFL tomorrow. This is against a very hungry, young, enthusiastic team that will have a sellout crowd in their favor. It could just be that Detroit is catching US at the best possible time. We barely beat them last year! This is a major challenge for Childress and his staff. Let's not take this one lightly!

Yeah ...it will be sad and stupid if we're saying Monday (if we loose) "Well, that was a good and timely wake-up call; we can't take anybody lightly." I'd rather be saying (after a solid win) "It doesn't prove anything; we need to stay focused because bigger tests are coming down the road." Don't count our chickens or we could lay an egg.

Shiancoe is right....you never know when
a team NOT favored to win could surprise
everybody....take nothing for granted....
The Vikings have to play every game like
it is the SUPER BOWL....give it your best
when you are out there...don't let the
game get away from you....avoid penalties...
too bad I can't watch on Sunday because
it won't be televised here....hope to see
it on NFL replay....then again I wouldn't
want to see that if they lose...hope they
win....that is all that matters....GO Vikes!!!

The vikes have traditionally made the worse QBs in the league look like the belong. Anyone remember Charlie Batch? 400 yards, 4 TDs in his first game at the dome... I dont see this happening but history does not lie. Go Vikes!

Yeah, the Lions are disguising their coverages all right. It's called, "who's covering that guy?" Drew Brees is good, but the Lions made it easy for him to throw 6 TD passes last week. If the Vikings don't find a way to win like they did against the Browns last week, it will be their own fault.

We've been enablers in the past, making weak teams winners. Favre makes a difference here, and I doubt he will allow the offense to be *befuddled* buy Detroit's inexperienced defense, hungry or not, Sit tight, fellow VK fans.

So far we're avoiding the big head, and the coaches are preparing diligently. If we focus, we should be all right. Skol Vikings.

Wise words there Mark. I'm thinking a win but the Vikes need to really stomp these guys to make a point that this year is really going to be different.

Ya know.......I fell sorry for the Lions and their losses. In, fact I wouldn't wish that kind of a losing streak even on the Packers!(Well, then again..I guess I would)

But, I hope we kill them tomorrow!!!!!!!!

I'll be one who said a couple years ago that the Vikings wasted a trade on Shiancoe. However, as I'm wont to do occasionally, I pull my head out of my sandbox and admit I was wrong about him. At least to date. He has come on strong the past couple years and seems to have his head in the right place. I think Favre will find him often, and, well, often. He also seems to be thinking, Shiancoe, I mean, about possibilities. I tell my son that you have to go to bed and dream about possibilities. How can a man, how can a team beat you, and how can you prevent that from happening? He dreams of ways that people can beat him, and he dreams of ways he can lay the stuff on them... and then he does it. I like the fact that Shiancoe is thinking of ways... just ways. Go Vikes, beat the Lions in their own den... a place that traditionally has been hard on us (a Packer fan friend of mine said Favre always... well, never mind... enjoy the game.)

At the risk of sounding redundant I hope we take at least acouple shots downfield, in a cover 2 the safeties have to cover a lot of space, BF should be able to exploit that a little, I say this every week so sooner or later it will happen and I'll be right; Vikes-27 Lions-17.

run the ball ... stop the run ... be very special on special teams ... the key to success this week next week and the week after that ... one play at a time but rock their world on every play ... the lions will be tough but not tough enough

This game will tell us a lot about our team. Will they play down to their level? Can they put them away early? If we are a good team we can't screw up against the easiest opponent we have this season. But I'm not being pessimistic. I'm looking forward to watching a thorough rump kicking. Vikings 31, Lions 10. Peterson 200 yards.
