typical Steeler hater. Will say anything about anyone- true or not- to try to quench their anger for the success of others. Will even attack totally innocent individuals to try and submerge their psychological problems. Blame your life on Pittsburgh dude. You know it's their fault. Every single person.

I think the captaincy runs for the whole season, so he'd be eligible again at the next vote in September 2011.

I think itshows a deeper issue, that of his team showing uncertainity in Bens character and leadership abilities, if Dixon continues to play well Big Ben might sit a while!!

You come out with off the wall stuff like that? Stop talking about what you want instead of what will happen. Jealousy is so unbecoming.

Who cares? Ben wasn't a captain the year after they won the 1st SB with him at QB.
It would be silly if he was voted a captain this year, considering he cannot be around the team at all for four weeks.

Oh, so true Biff. The other thing is that as the season goes on, the real captains will be dictated by their play. You look to those who are the best at what they do for inspiration. Anything else is just a piece of paper, just a label. labels don't make people what they are, actions do.

What "truth" would that be? That the Steelers aren't going to play Big Ben when he comes back? Sure. Whatever you say. Go drink some more of that malt liquor you named yourself after.

P.S. Sorry for baffling you with my last post. I'll go for less sophisticated humor next time.

This article made me cry when I heard that Ben cried last Thursday when he played the last pre-game. I hope he has learned his lesson and I'm divided on whether I believe the allegations. I do hope he has learned his lesson and moves on.

I was totally P.O.ed when I heard about how Ben was taking it because it made me even angrier at all those that committed terrible crimes and did not have to face an apt punishment. To even think of some of the thugs that have done what they've done and Goodell let them off easy is totally revolting all the more.

i jus' turned 46 and have been a steeler fan all my life. growin' up in ky, we had/have no teams of our own to root for (who wants to root for the bungles) so i have seen my share of good/bad times for the black & gold. not into politics of football, jus' love watchin' good 'ol smashmouth, old time football, but i am thoroughly let down by bens actions. i was not in the same room when all the allegations took place, and i'm not gonna judge him on anything, but i've never seen anything like this happen to peyton manning or alot of other high profile athletes. some people jus' know how to handle themselves on/off the field. his distractions create on-field distractions to some degree. i'm dang proud to be a steeler fan but i wish ben would get his head outta his hind-end and appreciate what he has. hopeful for a great season, GO STEELERS!!!

I guess you do not think much of the woman that was allegedly subjected to Peyton Manning reportedly sitting on her head and pinning her to the floor in a dorm room.
Point being, you don't have a rats... what these guys do or don't do 90% of the time. Once again, I come back with how can someone such as yourself look the other way- and that includes your favorite team- so much of the time and suddenly be so offended by actions that are allegations. How can you possibly know when the cameras were on and when they were off. How can you possibly know if staying out of the path of judgement does not have more to do than simply having the common sense or good fortune to have people around you to keep your acts under the rug.
All I know is that a man who is alleged of pounding a woman's head against a bar top, punching a woman in the face, firing a gun into a mans spine, having prior arrest records AND probation violations and being released because he attacked the person hired to watch him in social gatherings, is now back in the NFL- again. That's just one of many to where I say please give me a break on the- pick and choose selective persecution- that takes place in today's NFL. A Raven's fan crying 'how disgusting'. A Bengals fan sayins 'tsk, tsk'. A Steelers fan wagging their finger for that matter, whose memory seems to get hazy to these type of incidents that happened 2 years ago and beyond. On top of all that, making proclamations about others in which they can not possibly know who are the REAL good guys and who simply know how to put on a show and keep the dirt under the rug.

...yer an angry person aren't ya? with very little to do in life so this is how you "fit-in" in society. point is, you don't know me asshole so don't speak for me or incinuate i don't care about domestic issues of women. i do "live up a holler" and i am a redneck so i reckon thats my excuse for not knowing about p.mannings situation. i have a life beyond my computer screen, i don't have cable or sat. so i don't get espn. what news i get pertains to my world in central ky.outside that i don't care. if you really read my letter and not jus' look for things to correct me on, you'd know i already said i'm not with these people in their lives,so i don't know what they do when they're not playing football. maybe you should seek some counseling for your anger issues, take a course in understanding what you read or maybe jus' quit thinkin' yer so dang perfect and everybody else in the world is wrong cos from where i stand, you need some work.
