Can't lose job to injury? Nonsense
#1 Nov 17, 2007
Very true. The player who loses his jobs feels screwed but the name of the game is to win, and you need the best players to win. Guys like Mariotti who are up in arms about the "fake" injury to Griese are insulting our intelligence. Everyone knows Lovie wanted to go with Rex. We don't need Mariotti dedicating print and video to put an exclamation point on the obvious. He's like a little kid. How did this comment turn into an forum on Mariotti...who knows...I just hate the guy.

I agree. If Griese hadn't had 12 turnovers in 5 games, lost home games to the Vikings and Lions and only led the offense to 1 touchdown in the last 10 quarters before he got hurt, he'd still have his job. Mariotti can howl all he wants that this move is about favoritism and insult our intelligence by continuing to tell us Griese is a poised game manager who doesn't make big mistakes, but Griese made numerous big mistakes and didn't produce enough points. That's why he's going to the bench.

I don't think Mariotti truly understands Griese's high degree of incompetency.I truly believe it's possible that he is a worse QB than Rex. Is that possible? Maybe not, but Lovie loves Rex.
