He wasnt suspended because he was guilty of rape! He was suspended because his conduct of wild partying was against the leagues personal conduct policy. They can suspend you for practically anything they dont like if it shines a flahlight onto the "oh so chaste" NFL!

Good point. The reason the Rooneys did not handle the suspension was because if they did, the union had a viable avenue to file a grievance. With the suspension being handed down by the Commish, the only avenue would be to file against the Commish- which then would be heard by, you guessed it- the Commish. Wonder how that would have worked out?
Ben had no choice but to accept and start trying to mend fences not build them higher.
