Hmm... Kyle looks strong and the boards are awful quiet tonight as the naysayers desperately look for something to criticize or make excuses for. Last week it was the line was terrible and it didn't matter who was behind it - tonight the line holds and we get some nice passes, including what would have been 3 TDs. Your point Gross-man defenders.

Orton looked very good. The o-line looked decent. Forte looked solid. Kevin Jones looks very promising. Hester dropped a pass. Bradley lost a step. Urlacher looked lost. Briggs lost his tackling abilities. The Bears lost a great SS in Chris Harris, and have to play with McGowan. Mike Brown lost the receiver he was supposed to cover. The naysayers lost their negative comments, probably still disbelieving that Orton could actually play solid. Go Bears!

Kyle looked good. Bigger surprise R Davis, man great game (except for the 3rd TD Drop). Stop booing Grossman! He's not the starter, he's running the 2nd team offense, When's the last time we had a QB make it through an entire season? We might need this guy later and we need his head to be there. I don't know if anyone else was thinking what the Vikings AP is going to do to our Defense, scary.

2008-2009 Season Prediction: 4 and 12

I was at tonight's game and can say that there was little to raise anyone's hopes.

The D looked horrible. Gore, gashed them like they were a pee wee D. 400 plus yards in total yards allowed. My stomach won't hurt to much with the tums and mylanta I took. I liked Kevin Jones outing tonoght. Well; at this point I will say that kyle put the ball on the D's court tonight. Where did the O-line learn to block that quickly? TeeeeeeeeBow really might not be that far off. Due to the missed tackles by a quality RB like Gore speaks volumes about our D's ability to be shredded at the line. I hate to admit it, but kyles performance was good. Kevin Jones definitely needs more time, for a man coming off an injury, he did look good! Good "D" strategy Babich! Way to take it easy in pre-season, it showed tonight.

I just saw the second half, and I'll have to say, Grossman needs to be cut. Yeah, you'll say, "But who would be the #2 quarterback? I don't know right now; somebody they pick up off the waiver wire. But Grossman looks just awful. The Bears need to admit it: it's over for him in Chicago. The fans boo him; his performance is just awful. Cut him and move on.

Another one who really needs to be cut: Mark Bradley. Forget him. He's done.

And that brings me to Bob Babich, the Defensive coach. He's Lovie's buddy, so Lovie cut Ron Rivera lose to move his friend up to the top defensive post, and the Bears have stunk on D ever since. Cutting Harris lose for Adam Archuletta. And now the Defense is just awful. Even Urlacher (I would not have given him more money--he had a contract) said, "We have to get this defense together if we expect to win any games this year."

Conclusion: it isn't looking good for the Bears this year. The Cubs better win it all, because the Bears don't look like they will win anything. It says right here: 4-12.

Thankfully, I bubble wrapped my TV before the game. Even in blurred, distorted vision it was ugly for our "D"! Thanks for giving the Niner's clearance for takeoff! The Babich Patch kids are back!

1. It was nice to see an interview on TV with a bears quarterback that seemed intellegent.

2. nice job kyle and o-line

3. Davis always does good in pre-season, and then is never seen during the season.

4. Forte nice job stepping up.

5. How long will we keep Babich around before we figure out that he has no clue.(just because your genius at x's and o's doesn't make you a good coordinator)

6. was it just me or did it look like the D was a step behind everybody. good job making Gore look like the next Jim Brown.

7. At least lovies lies hasn't rubbed off on Urlacher, He admitted the bears D sucked

8. Just because Hanie completed the Hail Merry, please don't say he's better than Orton.

Anyone besides me notice that it seems just about anyone can be a great kick returner with this unit. Not taking anything at all away from Devin Hester's ability, but I think the preseason proves that the unit as a whole is responsible for those records. Hester is awesome. That unit is probably the best special teams unit of all time. Nice combination.

Forte looks very good every time I watch him... is it possible the Bears made a plus draft pick at running back?

Did you guys watch the same game I did? If SF makes the tackle at the 3 yard line on the stupidest reverse I have ever seen, the bears are down 10-0, and SF then goes down 85 yards and puts another td on the board. Urlacher stole millions from management. He was juked by Gore several times as well as getting swallowed by pulling gaurds that weren't even playing last year.

see what a difference itmakes when the o-line blocks for a starting qb? Lets see if they can keep that up. I've supported both qb's this whole time, b/c the failures of this team lie in the front office's inability to surround the qb's with any talent (why did we not even show a sniff of interest in terry glenn when we have all #3/4 type WR's.

And to the fans that boo grossman....You guys are pathetic. You boo a guy when he does a playaction rollout and the DE was not blocked and ready to cream him and he throws it away like every QB in college on up is taught to do and you boo him. Is he responsible for making blocks and catching passes now too. You're making Chicago fans look like dumb, ignorant, meat-heads who don't fully understand sports. They guy has not once said anything bad to the media or fans when he has been overly accused of the Bears failures. It's wrong to just go out and pick on one guy. If you want to boo him for every incomplete pass then you should boo Orton too, or boo the line every time we don't get 3 yards rushing, or boo the defense every time we give up positive yards.

Bottom line is the guy never deserved any of this, he has taken all the blame for the defenses collapse over the past two years starting with the super bowl game, and he has taken all the heat for an offense that sucks because the Head Coach won't fire a terrible coordinator, and a front office that refuses to go out and get real talent on the offensive side of the ball for what is now the better part of a decade.
The guy has not been perfect by any means, but he has been far better than most people think. Take off you blinders and look at the big picture every once in awhile people. I hope him and ORton both get ran out of Chicago and then come back and kick our a.s.s. for years to come just to rub it in the stupid Chicago fans that listen and pay way too much attention to the national and local media

"At some point, we have to step up and start making plays."

The season hasn't even started and already we have the Bears' epitaph.
