Crazy he didn't retain cable..I bet we don't hit .500 the first season with Jackson if he gets the gig.

It's time that Al Davis hired a boiling mad, short-fused hothead to roam the sidelines -- jumping up & down and hollering heavy profanity at game officials to show that the Raiders mean business.

If Jackson gets the job, he will have a tall order to get the players to play as hard as they did this season for an owner that just punched them collectively in the gut.

That was my point. It wasn't meant to be a slam on Jackson. But as much of a rah rah guy jackson is, the team bought into what Cable was selling. They were young and playing beyond their years. Jackson or who ever is our coach is going to have a hard time keeping the momentum on the same level. I know the decision was probably already made, but Cable should have never said "we are no longer losers" You know Al didn't like hearing anyone call us losers especially the head coach. regarless if it was past tense.

I gotta' agree with you. No matter what decision may or may not have been made beforehand, Cable signed his own pink slip with that statement.

That's just dumbass stuff .. Al better have a plan that's all I know.

It better be someone like Jeff Fisher, or something spetacular like Jim Harbaugh plus trade up for Luck or something that's definately going to kick Oakland onwards because they seemed to be going in the right direction as they were. Another good draft and some free agent wheeling and dealing and next year was looking very positive.

Now it's all uip in the air again .. sigh .. no wonder Oakland / Al Davis gets the press they do. Seriously, who in their right mind would want to go work there.

Cable only made one mistake. He ended the season at .500 and Al covets losing. He's so senile he thinks he's playing golf

people are shocked and upset! but you gotta remember that players also liked hue jackson. they responded well to him. he was no rah rah coach but he knows how to joke with these guys. somehow somewhere along the line we ranked high on offense. do i give him a lot of credit? hell yeah! do i give him all the credit? hell no! you know cable did a lot with players mentality to want to win. those were heart talks. the kind of stuff that gets inside a player. it's upsetting that cable was released but "if" h jackson stays as (hc) of the oakland RAIDERS. he has what it takes to move this team forward. i am not against hue jackson as our head coach of the RAIDERS by no means! cables problem was probably that, he was a little to late on his wins. a rummor about the decision on going with gradkowski, not winning outside the division and maybe signning his own pink slip with his statement. and then there are so many more rummors of the past. good luck to tom cable and his future.

I really don't think it had to with "we are no longer losers". Have said that, once upon a time Al traded away a coach the fans and players liked and the team became "the dumbest team in america". How many consecutive losing seasons?

WELL, j harbaugh turned down michigans offer of 5.2 mill. that means he is a free man! my understanding is he wants 7mill to be hired as a (hc) in the nfl. the dwafins are in the hots for him. along with a few other nfl coachless teams like the broncos and the niners. al davis has been trying to get him with the RAIDERS since gruden i think? well the time is right now! but, why part with hue jackson? he is already familiar with the RAIDERS! l bear was saying the rummor of j fassell which i heard as well. mark trestman and dennis green. dennis green? the nutty professor?(lol),"rummor "! just stick with h jackson! why would al davis part with jackson? he hired him? for that reason! and he came through!
GO RAIDERS!!! no diss to cable!

I know Jackson did a good job with our offense...but I have a bad feeling in my stomach about hiring him as head coach. Not sure why...just a gut feeling.

it's not easy by all means! we just have to see how it turns out. what if, things turn out a lot better? then, we can relax and say, it was an okay move (lol). now if things turn out like your gut feeling? im in trouble!(LOL). hey i was wrong about campbell remember?=D and everything else! it's just confusing knowing that cable did that good and was fired. i think we are all afraid of going back to the down spiral thing. but just hope it turns out okay regardless of who is in there coaching

well, would you rather see a new head coach or hue jackson back? some people feel h jackson was overated. some probably feel that bringing in a jim harbaugh would be the best thing but whats your output now that cable is gone?
