Letting Cable go would be the dumbest move the Raiders could make...It really ticks me off to already see these reports out and ruins the good feeling after beating the chefs.

t shefler of "espn" is one of the first to report that but NOBODY knows but AL DAVIS! and you know what? he (A DAVIS)doesn't even know yet. he's still scratching his head at this moment! trust me on that. weather cable is here or not we can't go wrong? the thing here is to keep this team together ONE MORE YEAR! THATS, what AL DAVIS has to concentrate on. that will mainly depend on h jackson's stay. AL DAVIS does not want to lose h jackson! i repeat, "al davis does not want to lose h jackson"! i can almost say, no matter what! what that means? i don't even want to think about it. all i want is for a hopefull one more year together with cable and jackson!
GO RAIDERS!!!YOU CAN WIN WITH BOTH!

Davis will keep both. Cable will be back next year, and Jackson will get a fat raise & asst coach title.

keep in mind Adam Shefter is reporting this....... he is wrong so often i don't even listen to him anymore. that's why NFL network let him go. Al is senile, but even he can't ignore what Cable has done since taking over

maybe the raiders can hire the jags del rio...

so he can screw up all the positive work and turn around efforts Cable and the team has made......

Agree with Shefter comment..Strongly disagree on Davis being senile...He is a HUGE part of why the Raiders had some success this year. If you are going to hold him accountable when things go bad, you have to give him credit when it goes good.

This season has been who the hell knows what Raider team will show up on game day.

News agencies are all about ratings and jumping the gun. Last year cable was fired two games into the season but it never really happened. Quoting an anonymous sources is anything from actually quoting from a source to making it up as you go.

The real problem for the Raiders in the foreseeable future will not be whether or not they will be better nest season. It is whether they will even play next season. The Commissioners letter to the public means the negotiations between the NFL and the NFLPA have stalled on the very points mentioned by the Commissioner.

There will NOT be a lock out. Why do you think this whole adding games to the season was "created"? It is a bargaining chip for Goddell. Players don't want to work more for the smae money and he knows that. He knew the lock out was looming. He will use it as a bargaining chip and there won't be a lock out. So That won't even be an issue. Howie long summed up Davis's choice best...Davis is not long for years so he needs whatever will give him the best chance at a SB quickly...and starting over with a new coach isn't likely going to be a better move. May mess everything up.

I bet he keeps Cable...I think its the smart move.

very well said! i have nothing against al davis. losing j gruden a while back was upsetting. losing cable this season could upset a lot of fans as well. but in reality you can't go wrong with either one CABLE AND JACKSON as (hc) of the RAIDERS. the thing here is to keep them together. even al davis may not be able to do that. there are so many head coach vacancies out there that h jackson coud just easily reach out for. and thats where it gets tough for al davis. he knows what a great job cable did. cable did what al davis asked him to do. and that was "WIN THE DIVISION"! thats why i believe tom cable will stay and be the lead man. h jackson has done what t cable could not do. and that is move the offense towards the "front" of the line. you know al davis hired jackson just incase cable did not come through. SURRRPRIIIIZE!(LOL)
cable does deserve to win the job. h jackson just came in but he too is impressive.
cable has to know by jan 17th!
GO RAIDERS!!!

i am no expert and really have no knolledge on the nfl collective bargaining and nflpa and all that stuff but there was mention about cable's decision depending on that. meaning that if the leauge goes on strike they may not have to pay cable for his coaching year he has left and that could be cable's releasing point leaving hue jackson as (hc) of the RAIDERS. so thats something more al davis has to look at. nfl sports analysist mike lombardi also believes or says cable wil not be back. and yes gentlemen i do know a sheftler or sheftner of espn and espn are full of sh.t!(LOL).
question is, who can make it work for our next season?

Get used to average.....

too many teams in the NFL....there are not that many REAL HEAD COACHES on the planet.......
the best Pro football head coaches are not on the side lines......they don't need the player drama and Bullchit.

Same with QB's.....

If Davis is to receive any praise, wouldn't it also follow that Cable should also get some praise.

Certainly. My point is that the media right now seems to be attaching the recent success with the coaching staff. When they lose, it is about Davis' methods. There man-to man defense worked and was able to the stop run this year. Last year, it was Al Davis' defense philoshophy and the game has past him by.

I wasn't downing the coaching staff. I just meant everyone likes to blame Davis...but if things go well they give the credit to someone else...like the coaching staff. Not to say they don't deserve some credit...but some must also go to Davis.
