Part of the Vikings current offensive problems actually started when Culpepper insisted on doing his rehab in Florida instead of here. Herr Commandant Klink could not stand the insubordination and that is why they let him go. Then Culpepper decides he does not need an agent to negotiate or talk to GM's in the NFL. You just do not buck the system in the NFL. Finally he came back too early from his surgery and was a complete bust in Miami.
So just like in baseball you get 3 strikes and Daunte you struck out.
GM's would rather negotiate with an agent than directly with a player.
Final note: I think the reasoning behind the drafting of Jackson was to show Culpepper that Klink could develop a QB as good if not better than he was. Oops! Guess that didn't work, did it Klink.
