Peace to the Gaines Adams family, and Chicago Bears.
What a tragic ending to a promising young life.

Sad enough that it happened at all, but it really seems like his passing has gotten overshadowed by the games today. On any other day, I'd expect this to be the biggest story in sports. Shame.

The NFL tests regularly, and he's never been suspended for any drug violations. Cocaine use isn't likely to destroy his heart overnight.

Why jump to such a conclusion? This condition could easily have been due to genetics or any other cause besides drug use.

Awful news. Really puts things in perspective. Condolences to Gaines' family, friends, and fans. Also to Bears fans. Terrible.

Wow there was nothing in this article to indicate anything other than a tragic death of a young man.

Some of you people just have curdled personalities.

Enlarged Heart = chronic coke use, or chronic use of steroids or HGH.

I suspect HGH as it doesn't show up on NFL drug tests.

Well no doubt there is that possibility.

But as Sigmund Freud once said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".

Meaning that sometimes an enlarged heart is just an enlarged heart.

What kind of person would take news of a tradgedy and turn it into an opportuniy to spew the hate we have witnessed here? A young man has died an early death, and the usual suspects make sure they slander his reputation without ever knowing him. I guess what troubles me the most, is that I honestly felt that as a society; we were better than that.

Because Minnesota nice is one of the biggest myths out there. The Twin Cities are full of hate mongering elitists, just like uncle Al. the motto needs to read Minnesota Azzholes
