Jim Miller didn't want Cutler on the team, he openly stated on Comcast that he was an Orton fan and did not like Cutler. Now he is sucking up to him. Chump.

I don't understand the headline. "lights out in first practice" - is it a play on words? Is "lights out" a term for doing well? Doing poorly? I thought maybe he got knocked out. Can anyone explain?

What is Turner going to bring to this guy? First, he doesn't know enough to give the guy a scholarship and second, he doesn't have the creativity to take advantage of this kind of skillset. Please, someone, argue with me!!

Thanks for not disappointing "Jonnie" - I knew someone would post this type of reply instead of just answering.

"lights out" means "did very well."

Tell Johnnie to go cuddle up to his GI Joe comics and snap into a slim jim.

Can't argue. You're right on target. You would have to think that Turner is on the bubble. In eather stint he coached here the best offense we have had was somewhere in the middle teens. Turner gets 2009 to do something, but if he fails to perform the Bears should make the same kind of moves on Offense that they did on Defense earlier this year. Shanahan says he wants to coach somewhere next year so lets hope the stars align just right in 2010 and we get a new offensive coaching staff headed by him.

Cutler will be better than anything we've had, I'm more worried about the safeties and Tommie Harris.

Can't say I disagree with what Jim Miller said to Cutler. I always liked him. He just happened to be a part of the Wannstedt-Jauron era. Now that I think about it, he wasn't much different than Orton on the field. Accurate but not a deep arm, and he won a lot of games he started. He had a beard and wasn't the best friend of the fantasy football fans. I was trying to think of some kind of connection between Kordell Stewart and Cutler, but I couldn't. Go Bears!
