Dolphins MVP no doubt about it. Give him the award early, he deserves it.

Penny is the man! He is very accurate but never (ok rarely) throws very far down the field. He is very accurate within 30 yards and that is his bread and butter. He also is excellent at handing the ball off. He is also good at selling the fakes and rolling out to fool the defense. His selling of the fake handoffs and rolling out is one of his best plays and that has the Phins where they are now. The bottom line is Penny is a very smart QB and uses his mind to overcome physical weaknesses in his throwing arm. He is the perfect QB for the young fish right now. Think about it, the last thing we would need at this point of our development is a young yahoo QB who wants to sling it 40 yards every down. Save that for 2 years from now when we can draft the next big talent at QB. I Don't like U of Florida but does anyone feel Tebow will be a great NFL QB? If not whar are the other options?

are you kidding? their qb of the future is on the bench...Chad Henne, drafteed in the second round this year. they will not take a qb at all in next years draft. and there will be two or three qbs drafted ahead of tebow...none of them by miami though.

The Fat Tuna always takes promising QB's in the draft. The future superstar can be anywhere from the first to the seventh round. let's see what happens in this years draft.

Great article Omar. This really explains a lot about how Pennington has turned this offense around, and hence the Dolphins around.

I'm not sold on Tebow as a pro QB. I think Chase Daniel, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, and Graham Harrell (along with Tebow) will all potentially make up a great QB class next year if they all enter the draft. McCoy's a junior, and I think Bradford (Oklahoma) is also a underclassman.

The last "smart" quarterback the Dolphins had was Bob Griese. I think Pennington may be even smarter. Don't say Marino either. He was talented but never smart.

It's safe to say that the biggest winner in the Favre trade was the Dolphins. I live in the northeast and I know the way the Jets fans loved Chad. Now I know why.

Best free agent signing in years(maybe forever). He seems to be raising everyones game. He'll be an excellent coach when he retires.

Nice insight Omar!Penny has truly been the difference this year.I'm so sick of hearing dolphin fans bash him. This team MAYBE has 3 wins without him.I too hope Henne is a part of this private study group. How come no mention of him?I don't see us drafting a qb,I hope the future is on the bench right now! It's amazing to hear both Smiley and Sparano has NEVER seen a qb do this in over 10+ years in the league! I wish everyone would realize what a jackpot we won when the DUMB ASS jets let him go,no trade,no draft pick, just released him.....talk about stupid......GO FINS!!!!!!!!!!

Leave it to the Jets to not have seen what they had in Penny. He had become a surprisingly strong contributor both on and off the field. I give credit to not only Penny, but to Tuna and Ireland for making it happen!! Thank you Brett.

Hey GoJetsGo:

The last thing I would EVER do is peruse a Jets blog and blab on incoherently.

Are you one of those inebriated, knuck-dragging morons that INVADE Dolphin Stadium (and previously the Orange Bowl) with your thought provoking comments like "hey ya wanna fight mutha?" I swear the aveage IQ of the stadium drops 75 points when the Jet fans are in town!!!

Don't soil this blog the same way you soil the stadium.

I hated this guy when he was a jet but MAN do I love having him here. It's so refreshing to watch games now EXPECTING to win. I always worry a little because old habits are hard to break but I'm starting to realize that I don't get as many butterflies when we have the ball late in the fourth and need a score. I'm so happy that favre went to NY and we have Pennington. This is what this team so badly needed. I hope and pray that Henne is taking notes and learning so that he can continue on when the time comes. I for one am not in a rush for that.

Great story here, I love Penny and everything he is doing. I just hope Henne has been on his hip the whole time. What a great guy to learn from.

yes by all means. its a unique and highly effective way to be able to understand how you and your receivers can communicate while in s game situtation. now wonder when he was with the jets they killed us all the time. maybe more people like parents could communicate with their children on the same intelligent level sd this qb does with his players. it is so exciting to see him throw those passes either to ginn. cobb or mamarillo or whomever. i love it and the woldcat is just so wonderful to watch develop i jump up right away knowing points will be scored. this group of players has turned me back into the dolphin fanatic i was a long time ago when shula was coaching and all the great players we had in the seventies. it looks like we can contend for jut maybe the division title again. lets go fins beat up on those patriots. and have you noticed since the ceap about the patriots using films to cheat off of yjey have not done so great this year. i guess the old saying what goes around comes around.

Could not agree more, when he was with the stinking Jets, the game would end and I could not understand how Pennington beat us every time. He always made the plays that changed the game. How the tide has turned, now I do. He has been a gift to the Dolphins and we should thanks Green Bay for that.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Cancer

Someone dear to your heart isn't exactly a barrel of laughs today, are they? Is it your imagination or are they taking a perverse delight in spreading doom and gloom in all directions? If they've got good reason to be miserable then they deserve your sympathy, but even so it may not last for long. Try to keep active and cheerful, otherwise you'll also develop a tendency to brood.
