The Browns enter their bye date today at 3-3. While not a winning record, it's a mark many fans and some players, too embrace as a sign of improvement.

DOES RAC DESERVE ANY REAL CREDIT FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE OFFENSE.....
I say NO...The offense has been completely built by SAVAGE....
1) The OL Was build by SAVAGE through Free Agency and the Draft...The key element the Left tackle was a gutsy draft pick by Savage...
2) Savage Ordered the Firing of Carthon ...Found CHUD and brought him in...
3) Savage then Brought in Lewis
4) SAVAGE finally had to Trade Frye so Anderson could take over. It was another gutsy call by Savage ...If Frye was still here RAC would still be playing him....
I don't see how anyone can give RAC any credit at all for the success of the Offense...CHUD...and tremendous work by SAVAGE has build that unit.
THE DEFENSE....
The RAC defense remains in place....Savage has made upgrades to the unit in the Draft ...Wimbley and Wright to name two ....But they have not improved...Defensive line help is critical...The pass rush must be developed....THIS IS RAC's BABY...HE HAS FAILED AS A COACH TO DEVELOP OR EVEN IMPROVE OUR DEFENSE SINCE HE TOOK OVER....
RACs lack of judgement and team discipline is obvious...Handling of Edwards, the coin flip that made Cleveland a laughing stock, the hiring of Carthon and then after a Disaterous 1st year allowing him to add play calling to he duties...His lack of fire....His less then sterling handling of the Press and the Fans...He plays favorites with Frye and J. Wright two major examples...I don't follow or know the defense well but I am sure he does the same over there....
He is not spotting in BRADY as he must....
Lets remember that ANDERSON will Be gone the second he can legally do so He is getting lots of press and the BIG MONEY IS WAITING FOR HIM WITH Lots OF TEAMS NEEDING A QB....Why would he want to stay knowing that Brady WILL take his spot.....BUT Brady MUST be ready to play, he needs experience the coaches need to know his weakness's and Strengths So they can Help him improve and if necessary adjust the offense around those attributes...I don't suggest Brady Should START...He just needs to be spotted in for a Series or two EVERY GAME...BY DOING THAT HE WILL BE READY WHEN THE TIME COMES...and When BRADY is Ready... Anderson will be tremendous trade bait...AT the very least we can get a High #1 draft pick...So we have a chance to get that great pass rusher we desperately need....
RAC is a nice man...Liked by the players...BUT WE NEED A REAL HEAD COACH...

Some people are never satisfied. You think now is the time to start over with a new head coach when the team is starting to show real progress on the field?
We always change coaches every 2 or 3 years and look where it's gotten us. It looks to me like the Browns are finally doing it right. Developing young talent while maintaining staff continuity.
DA is playing great. We don't need to rush Brady into the game now. Let him continue to learn on the sidelines and in practice. There's no problem with having 2 quarterbacks, Brady's time is coming and he'll play when the time is right. Who cares if it's this year or next as long as the team is winning.
Let's just support the team and enjoy the progress they've made. They're playing some fun football and look to have a bright future. Let's not loose track of where we came from and where we are now.

I would put Zastudil, Bodden, Wright and S. Smith up there as dissapointments too.

You're right about a LOT of stuff here (at least, I think you are).... and I can guarantee that the folks here are going to rip you for a lot of it.
All the stuff about some of the moves done by Savage.... I think are spot on. Particularily about sending Carthon packing.... bringing Chud in.... and sending Frye packing to force RAC to make a change at QB. RAC definitely can't adapt and adjust and sticks to his "loyalists" instead of doing what is best for the team.
I disagree (mildly) on a few points.....
1) Anderson.... agree with trade. Disagree on the value. Low first round pick would be the absolute MOST and that would have to be a team desperate to have his services. I do see a team giving up a second rounder though. That would not be unreasonable. Though..... with how the Falcons traded Schaub off.... you never know......
2) Savage is also largely to blame for the situation. Until he starts striking gold on his later round picks.... this team will always be playing catch up.
3) Firing Crennel..... we do need a real head coach. Firing Crennel will be a VERY risky thing though. And THAT.... is where I think Chud comes in.
I think Savage might have hired him with the idea of maybe moving him up to the head coach spot.... and hiring coaches that he wants. I think Lerner hired Crennel at the league's suggestion and is now beginning to question that decision.
In the end..... I do see a coaching shakeup coming. Crennel's team might be 3-3..... but I really don't see it being by his direction.
With that..... Crennel-Watch continues.....
Counting down day number 39.......

Although I am aware that we are all die-hard Browns fans with only their best interest at heart, I am concerned that removing Crennel anytime in the near future would be a huge mistake.

Rome was not built in a day! He may prove to be a brilliant coach sooner than later but to suggest that he go after only 3 seasons may hinder us from finding out... and then what? Start all over again?... been there, done that! C'mon people, lets enjoy the little pleasant surprises and hope for more, and fast. In the mean time, lets give the current staff and front office some more time... after all, we're Cleveland fans and that ought to be something wee can afford them in return for a promising future.

Just my two cents worth!

Believe me..... I understand.
I wish I had your faith in Crennel. Thing is.... he's really seemed to have little to no impact on the team. The only thing that seems to have honestly helped was having some draft picks step up and having some free agents kick it in gear. Honestly.... look at the defense.... Crennel's supposed "strongpoint". They're in the basement in the league. We get a new, non-Crennel associated Offensive Coordinator and..... POW! They produce.

Can you at least see why it seems like Crennel is a dud?

Browns have the worst football organization in the NFL. They can't pick a Head Coach or a QB who's worth his salt. Brady Quinn may be the answer, but he's not being played so who knows? He should be starting now for the future if thre Browns have one?

As for me, I say GO STEELERS !!!

I think the worst mistake Crennel made was the Maurice Carthon disaster. That really set the offense back. Now that the truth has come out, Trent Dilfer doesn't seem like so much of a whiner anymore. I think Crennel is improving and can be a good head coach, it is just going to take some patience. If the Browns can continue to draft good players and make smart free agent signings, the future looks promising. Firing Crennel now that the team has some positive momentum would be a big mistake.

Something that you're failing to realize is that player personnel decisions are up to the GM. Of course Savage brought in the draft picks, free agents, etc. That's his job. Pointing fingers at Romeo because Savage has done his job doesn't really make any sense at all.

As far as the Carthon thing goes, I agree that's on Romeo. Savage has his share of misses too (just look at his 2nd day draft picks). That's just part of having a first time head coach and a first time GM. They have growing pains just like everybody else.

Andra Davis remains the most overrated signings for the Browns. Even when he was leading the team in tackles, less than 10 of those were for losses. Everytime I looked for him on the field I saw an overmatched $8 million dollar player getting blown off the field by either a lineman or fullback. It's time to pull the plug on this stiff and move Leon Williams to the Inside spot opposite D'Qwell Jackson.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Cancer

Someone dear to your heart isn't exactly a barrel of laughs today, are they? Is it your imagination or are they taking a perverse delight in spreading doom and gloom in all directions? If they've got good reason to be miserable then they deserve your sympathy, but even so it may not last for long. Try to keep active and cheerful, otherwise you'll also develop a tendency to brood.
