So.... no TJack this weekend, as I interpret this. I'm afraid, my friends, that Childress has set the pace for TedT who is guarding his own... TJack, win or lose, will always be BChild's player and will always get the benefit of the doubt. I know, it happens everywhere and all the time. It's the nature of the NFL and egos. We're 8 and 8 best, probably 7 and 9 this year. Thanks for the season, and I hope it's more exciting for us than I think it's going to be. Maybe I should lay off the beer and steer horns already.

What the "H" are you talking about? Yeah, lay off the beer and pain killers. I should've known... you're registered from cheese land.

Though also from cheeseland, I have no idea what point notanostrich is trying to make?? T-Jack tweaks his knee and will likely miss the most important preseason game, got it. Not seeing the connection on how that's Childress's fault, nor how that would make the Vikes 7-9 or 8-8.
I'm cautiously optimistic that the addition of Allen will improve the Vike D from #32 against the pass to, roughly,#15. His presense should make Ray Edwards and Kevin Williams more effective pass rushers, giving opposing qbs less time to throw. IF that were to occur, as I believe it will, they should be a top 5 D on a points allowed basis.
Offensively, Chris Carter said the Vikes WR corpes was the worst it was in 20 years last year. I think he was right. However, adding Berrian gives us a legit deep threat, which is ideal, given all the 8 and 9 men in the box we'll see. I do think Sidney Rice will be more effective and to a lesser extent Bobby Wade, given a year under the system (WCO). Much like NFL Network draft guru/Vike preseason announcer Mike Mayock, I like Aundrae Allison's potential. NFL Network's Charles Davis said Allison couldn't be covered at the Senior Bowl 2 years ago and he's fast (4.38/40). Point is that this year's WRs should be a significant upgrade over last years. Factor in another 12 games of experience for T-Jack from this time last year and I can't help but believe the passing game will be much improved.
In that pass defense and pass offense were the two weak links last year, but both have been addressed... And, knowing last year's team was 8-8, I'm conservatively thinking 10-6 (barring injuries to AD or Allen). This is a good time to be a Viking fan and I can't wait for the regular season to start!! Going to the opener at GB...
