LOL! Un-targeted? Only LBs and Center and Punter.

This article, however, addressed a HUGE problem:
Kicking.

Longwell cannot kick a touchback. Great field position for the opponent is not helping.

The article was unclear on that. And you are right. Sadly, if we had 7 Chad Greenways, we'd still need LBs.

oh, i thought you offered your opinion. the article was nothing special & obviously, the vikings can not expect to improve 11 positions in the off season. kinda ridiculous.

True. This team needs help everywhere. I think all positions should be open.

Personally, I'd start with a big leg kicker and some special teams guys who WANT to play and occasionally catch a pass.

The lack of depth problem is squarely on management. What do the triangle dorks do anyway? If they are worth their money, they should be raiding practice squads and combing colleges AND studying the waiver wire.

Instead, I think the triangle is playing "little brick out" with Avant.

Triangle's dead. It's all spielman as of now. So we'll see what happens now that he has final say over everything.

What do you guys think of Alan Williams getting the DC job (if)?

I believe it won't matter much with the current roster which is what this thread is about but like you say PF...we aren't going to upgrade 11 positions.

He's still there. The others are still there.

KFAN confirmed that the "GM" tag is a red herring.

11 positions. More like 53 roster spots!

Start anywhere!

oh, yeah, but Spielman's been named the GM. He has final roster authority. Next year after frazier's fired, I assume he'll have final authority on the next head coach. Baby steps, i know, but it's progress. We have someone to blame over the roster from today forward.

I hope so. Ideally, Speilman gets fired and the rest of the crew with him. We'll see.

The Wilfs were not too clever in trusting Mark Dayton.

As Vito said..........whoever comes to you with "the deal" is your traitor.

Dayton is looking out for his pals and could not care less if the team goes away.

U would tho..........lol..........goes to show a Mobile QB with no deep threat can be a no show in a league where Cam and Smith make an impact..........

outside hash GAME WILL OPEN UP THE INSIDE HASH GAME..........Hern. and Gronk are prime examples..........Welker slot..........and blah blah blah..........O line was not a prob..........Mount was a great blocker..........scheme is now a 3-4 with mobile end and solid NT.

Winny is A PERF. FIT AS A SLOT BLITZ GUY AND RUN TACKLE..........Vikes need two big corners that can press cov at the line and Greenway becomes the ultimate LB..........3-4 IS THE KEY..........Griff. and noone else cant do that scheme.

O is the way to build....why else do the Vikes tke Ponder??????????

FA OLB SLASH D PLAYER TO TRANSFORM THE SCHEME TO 3-4 WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE..........AGREE?

harry I know jack about politics..........I know my interst rate dropped big time due to our current Catholic Pres.........lol.

I think the Giants showed how its done. Or at least a way of doing it.
Big WRs and at least the threat of a running game. And a pass rush that gets the other team worn out by the start of the 4th quarter.
I've never been a fan of the 3-4 or Dallas' flex. The NFL now is an arena passing league. Four pass rushers are needed.

I'm going to stick with my original suggestion of getting a kicker. A guy who can boot kickoffs thru the endzone is way more valuable than any sentimentality toward a well liked veteran who is past his prime.
Then, looking at the division, I kind of agree with Childress that "D" is where to focus. Nobody on this roster, except for Winfield, deserves a spot right now. And the Tampax 2 has gotta go.
BTW........our LBs are the weakest of the weak spots. And even weaker is Singletary. That whole area is a tear-down.

Lots of problems. Start anywhere.
