Brian Leonard

Bengals uncover gem in Leonard

Full story: Columbus Dispatch

After eight straight losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Paul Brown Stadium, it seems odd that the Bengals would break the streak the way they did.

WHOOOO DEY!!!! Big win 4 Cincy!!

BTW: Another example of a 2009 NFL team full of "Grinders" type players would be the 49ers.

As a very long time Rutgers fan, I am so proud of Brian. He single handedly changed the losing culture at RU and became the poster boy for success. What you see is what you get. You will not see him dancing in the end zone or anything like that. He is a true throw back to the days when football players were real men and not publicity hounds. Cincy is damn lucky to have him.

Exactly! A character guy who does his job and plays team ball - wish the team had 20 more like him...

Leonard is exactly what the Bengals needed. A smart guy who works hard, makes plays and doesn't get arrested.

He may not be the "most athletic back", but his combine numbers were certainly solid and his youtube highlights from college might speak more of him then he himself does.

Not athletic? solid combine numbers?
4.49 is better than solid, he would have been one of the fastest backs if he had came out this year.

i find it strange that everybody agrees that he's soooo great, but he is hardly ever utilized.
people need to wake up to the FACT that the nfl is anti-white.

Leonard is too modest for his own good. He's a good running back, who if he was given 20 carries in a game would surprise the hell out of a lot of people, except for those who watched him at Rutgers. Go Brian!

Castefootball-- I don't believe the nfl is anti-white, but I do wonder why a guy like Matt Jones went unsigned. Here's a guy 6'7' runs a 4.3something and the league is hurting for WRs.

compare david ball to jerry rice in college. what were their college credentials and when were they drafted?

He is a great team player. He does what is needed whether it be running a ball, catching a ball or even blocking for someone who can do those better. I met him once and he was really polite and nice. As a Rutgers fan, I am very happy that he's doing all of us proud not just because of football but also because of his character.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Taurus

It's important that you keep that famous bull-headedness in check over the next couple of weeks. Be cool, calm and sensible and you'll find that you end up with things correctly and tidily done. Stick to the straight and narrow, no matter what the distractions or irritations around you. If you think outside the square, you'll begin to see how visualisation can change and shape your life. Trust your hunches and be ready to move on them.
