Who ever called all those running play's in the first half should be fired. They had there chances, and didn't cash in early, and that's what cost them the game. A defense can only keep you afloat for a short time. Good job defense, you gave it your all. You laid the hits on USC. For those sissies on offense, you could have played tougher.
USC brought their A game and got more breaks, Illinois brought their B game with less breaks.

USC is the better team, how could they not with the ridiculous amount of talent they bring to the field? But Illinois had a bad day. Hence, a really bad game to watch on Tuesday.

The SEC and academics? Thanks for the good laugh!
And as for stats - the B10 has played in MORE BCS games than any conference - since it often sends two teams into BCS games (hence, the lower winning % since a no.2 B10 team plays a no.1 team from another conference).
That percentage was from all bowl games, not just BCS games. However, thanks for pointing out that going 0-2 every year in the BCS games does not help the Big 10s cause (can't handle the elite teams?). The Big 12 and SEC (the other two conferences who routinely send 2 teams to BCS games) do not seem to have this problem. And what does jsjs stand for?

Get Vontae Davis into the offensive game plan. He chased McKnight down like a leopard

While I say congrats to U of I for making it to the Rose Bowl, I can't help but feel that this is karma smackin' them for stealing Bruce Weber from SIU.
Seriously though, this was a blowout in the making, as soon as it was announced they were going to the Rose Bowl, I immediately bet the over.

Just be thankful B10 and P10 haven't dropped their academic standards and provided test takers like the southern schools do to keep their players eligible.

Just another SEC hater, if I remember correctly Ohio State had their own academic "issues" with Andy Katzenmoyer, and I'm sure if I actually paid attention to the Pac 10 they've had their issues as well. The SEC reputation is overblown and outdated from that standpoint.

Gee, thanks a lot to the Big 10 for sending yet another piece o' crap team to the Rose Bowl. God almighty your conference stinks. How embarrassing.
If you can read anything, other than your i-phone and this blog, look up your (USC's) history.

Without the Big-10 and Notre Dame... USC would still be some cow town school, like UC Riverside.

No doubt, da Illini did not belong; but, don't be harsh. Now, go ride your two stroke motorbike or go skateboarding.

Illinois - Great season guys. Keep fighting - you can make New Year's Day bowl games a regular thing.
Hey 99 Illini Alum,
after living out here in the desert known as Southern California (if you don't believe me...don't turn your sprinklers on for a week) I do believe these folks out here are just constantly angry. I think it's that arid air.
Way to go Illini !! BTW, bring back Da Chief !

OJ did go to USC and Illinois has it own "Juice". At least he doesn't go around killing and robbing. That is a very good thing.
