If Brett Favre had retired for good after the 2009 season, he would have left near the top: He had a brilliant season in Minnesota, with the best stats of his career, he led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game, he extended his consecutive games record another 16 games, and he was one of the most respected men in the NFL.

Green Bay. Vincent Lombardi built the Packers. And he left after multiple championships to rebuild the Redskins.

Packer fans abandoned Lombardi. And then the poor guy died not long after.

Packer fans? Ask them about Reggie White or Bart Starr.

They won't remember.

Bart Starr has been bending over Packer fans ever since retiring with his car dealerships. Where do you think the story-line for FARGO eminated from? Jerry Lundergaard aka Bart Starr

Only time Packer will welcome back the egomaniac is when the best QB in football the great Aaron Rodgers wins his second Superbowl. Then Rodgers and the Packers can look down on Favre as someone who once played QB in Green bay like Zeke Bratkowski.
