Vasher and Tillman are the most overrated corners in the NFL.
Can anybody in the Bears secondary cover a receiver? What good is it to stop the run if you can't cover anybody? If the secondary continues to play 7 yards off the receivers, it is going to be a long second half of the season. |

No corner can cover with ZERO pass rush. The Bears have been roasted by some very avarage QB's this season. No pass ruch. Simple as that.
Lovie, Babich and Turner should all be UNEMPLOYED. |

pass rush is/has been/will prolly continue to be bad.
Vasher isn't doing too hot. I do like Tillman still, he is almost always (some bad moments) in tight coverage, makes solid tackles, and is a great ball stripper. I think Graham is primed to take Vashers spot, but that's just me. What is with the lack of push from our linemen though? I mean come on. |

I hate to say this, but I actually agreed with Dan Dierdorf. A+ grade for the run defense, D- for the pass defense. No pass rush, and the two biggest wastes of money at both corners. Should have signed DeAngelo Hall, he couldn't possibly be worse than Tillman.
"But, but, but, he strips the ball!" I can hear it already. Big deal, so he knows to run up when someone else has already made the tackle and grab at the ball. My dog could do that, and he could keep up with the wide receivers instead of running three yards behind them all the way to the end zone. |

Good luck Orton, hurry back we really need you.It is true that corners cant cover consistently without a pass rush.Or the Q.B will sit and wait for a receiver to come free.Even the best corner cant provide blanket coverage the whole time for 7-8 seconds! We are not getting a pass rush, period. That is the problem on our Defense right now! It all starts up front.Tommie Harris must be way more hurt than we know about. To decline so much.He is hurting us on Defense. We should use Idonije & Harrison instead until Harris is better. We need to get aggressive, physical, blitz more & take some chances. We have got to start jamming receivers at the line & being Physical & stop giving such big cushions.Jamming receivers would help when these Q.B's are taking 3 step drops to get rid of it quickly. We have got to figure it out,or we will risk wasting a season with Hope.It would be a shame cause we are Capable of being pretty darn good!Come on Bears,Get back to that Physical,Aggressive & Attacking Defense That Swarms to the ball! Last thing, please Heal fast Orton & Hurry back! Go Bears! I Believe! BEAR DOWN!! 2008 DIVISION CHAMPS!

Show me a secondary that can't cover and I"ll show you a team that doesn't have a pass rush. You can only cover WR so long.
Exceptions are NO and Vikes, their secondary does suck. |

For those bashing Tillman and Vasher please keep in mind that Tillman is playing with TWO messed up shoulders and Vasher is nursing two surgerys done to his hand this season alone. Yes they are playing crappy, but at least there trying, which is more then i can say about the front 4; so redirect the blame the front 4 on the Dline. Question the defense plays and adjustments by the coaching staff in this regard and things may appear a bit more clear.

God, the irony of that comment!! Imagine saying that a few years ago...!! |

. BOTH corners have been playing 7 - 10 yards off the ball,... and to the outside,... EVEN NEAR THE GOAL LINE! THAT'S so utterly High School! Tillman and Vasher are both too good to do THAT on their own. THIS IS ALL ON .. BABICH !! ( And with typical Bears' logic,......... they probably figure that they'll STAY in that coverage all season,..... because if the Bears change the coverage ... the other team will just attack another flaw!!) . |

Nut as we know Otis it is not a few years ago, Orton is not the second coming of Sid Luckman but was playing at a high level before the injury. I am ready for Hanie id Orton sets this week. |

Join with me, everyone: CA-LEB! CA-LEB! CA-LEB! You have to admit, the kid looked good in the preseason against third string defenses. I'd like to see what he could do with the starters. It couldn't be worse than three-and-out, three-and-out, three-and-out all day. |

Hey, I was an Orton fan even in his rookie year! I was pretty lonely. However, considering how much the guy was trashed for his rookie numbers (at least he won games!) and game-manager approach, it amazes me how the tide has turned for him. He keeps getting better! I'd move Hanie up the depth chart and let Rex know that his days in Chicago are numbered. He probably already knows that anyway. Orton is still our best hope this season. Rock on! |

Of course, I can't blame Grossman for starting inside the 10 yard line time after time. That was fantastic special teams play by the Titans. I give them credit for a well-played game, but it was a game we could easily have won with a little more offensive output. |

1 I totally blame Rex and the offense for the bad starting field position. If they could manage to gain a few yards they would have improved their field position. What was it like 7 or 8 3 and outs? And you wonder why they had crappy starting field position? Look at this drive chart from yahoo sports. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/boxscore... Do you notice how great the Titans field position was due to the ineffectiveness of the Rex. We were 3-14 on 3rd down conversions..And A LOT of them were very manageable! So yeah.....Put in Hanie..Could he really be any worse? |
