There is a god, somebody in that screwed up BEARS organization has some common sense.
Caleb Hanie should be starting he's the best QB on this team
and will be starting before you know it.
Orton and Grossman have had plenty of time to develop and what you see is what you get. They would be back ups if that on any other NFL team at best.
Hanie needs the same opportunity that they gave these 2 other clowns no less.

I would hope he made the 53 man roster. When the only 2 QB's that currently reside on your team have the history of Rex and Orton, you better have someone else in reserve. And the QB play doesn't even take in the efforts of the OL. Chances are the Bears will probably need to be on the waivier wire hunting up QB's, since half of them will probably get maimed with the OL they have in front of them.

Comments that Hanie should be the starter show that Bear fans are just as dumb as the organization they love to bash. Hanie played against players who did not make their respective teams. He hasn't played one down against a number one defense and you want to crown him as the starter? Let the kid develop a few years like Romo and work on getting an offensive line that will not get him killed. Then he can start.

Looking at the Bears roster re-empahsizes to me that this team will go 4-12. Can't wait for hockey.

I am glad Hanie made the roster. Now Orton and Grossman can start looking over their shoulders in fear that they might be replaced by him. He is in fact better than they are even tho he is a untested undrafted Rookie. I predict by the end of the season he will be the starter replacing the other two.

Should've kept Rideau and released Bradley. When he's hurt by week 2 and Rideau catches his 3rd TD for someone else no one except JA will be surprised. Sometimes, it's okay to make draft mistakes - it's not okay to refuse to acknowledge and correct the situation, esp. when the solution catches 2 TD's in front of your face only days earlier. Duh.

And so it begins. A young, relatively obscure player from a less than stellar program comes in and looks really sharp playing against opponents just hoping to make an NFL roster. By week 3 Chad Hanie will be the most popular player in Chicago. He has talent (a talent that needs time to develop) and should have been given a shot to start. Like in week 4 of the preseason, just to get an idea of what the kid could do. If anyone thinks Hanie is the next Tony Romo, keep in mind that Romo rode the pine for YEARS before being given a chance and during that time he himself admits he was improving and getting better. Chad, I'm glad your a Bear, but I pray you don't start any time soon. You would be just one more in a long line of Moses Moreno's to be exposed too early and given up on just as quickly.

Caleb, not Chad. My bad, I must have been thinking about Hutchinson.

I was worried that Hanie would be relegated to the practice squad and would soon be gone. Hanie showed the potential to be a game changing QB. When was the last time the Bears has a QB that could scramble and through on the run? I can't remember. He is the best prospect to come along in a long time. Bears need to bring him along as if he was a high draft pick. Slowly, methodically and let him become a winner in 2-3 years.

Caleb Hanie will play like Mr. Hanie from Green Acres fame if the Bears thrust him into action behind the worst "offensive" line in the league.

The last time the Bears had a QB who could scramble? Think Henry Burris, Cade McNown, or even Vince Evans. Hall of Famers, eh?

Caleb Hanie will be a star in the NFL, hopefully, for the Bears! Please don't throw him to the wolves too soon!! He's already a better all around QB than orton or rex, but he does need seasoning, and an OF line!!
