"Brad Maynard averaged just a net 29 yards on his five punts."

Yes, but he placed 4 of 5 punts inside the 20 yard line. And the other punt was nearly on the 1-yard line, although the defender accidentally stepped on the goal line, resulting in a touchback. Maynard was actually very good on Sunday: he did his job in helping the Bears' field position. Given the short field he had when punting, focusing on his net yards is beyond ridiculous.

A punters job is to pin the offense back. Exactly what Maynard did with perfection. Thats why there is a stat called Punts Within the 20 yard line.
Go back to grading figure skating. I'll go with an A- just because I would have liked to see more rushing yards. Go Bears!

Booker's one-handed grab warrants an "A" by itself! I also give Lovie high marks for challenging the call, that was a big confidence booster for the team.

Go Bears!

agreed. Maynard had a hell of a game. would have been better if manning would have kept his foot out of the enzone.

Good job by the Bears dominating a bad Detroit Lions team. Now letÂ’s pluck some feathers.

Agreed with everyone (except the author of these absurd stats). Criticizing Maynard for net punt yardage...PLEASE! If the Bears continously punted from deep in their own endzone, Maynard would have booted that ball.

And an A- for offense?!? Jeez, what do we need for an A+? We had over 300 yards passing! 34 points! NO interceptions! I think you need to just remove that minus sign you nitpicker!

I do agree about Hester though! Remove his fumble, and we shut out the Lions like they deserve.

Great Game...can't wait for the Falcons!!!

Just so you know I was not nitpicking.
When Lovie and his staff sitdown and breakdown every aspect of the game they are going to look real hard at there inability to gain more yards on the ground. That's all I'm saying.
