These idiots are saying Preseason game isn't pressure but playoff games are.
Then we have an idiot who feels vindicated based on one game.
When has Orton faced pressure? In 05 he was told to manage the game. Last season he started a couple of games at the end when the Bears were out of it.
But under the most pressure a player can face 2 times Grossman played very well.
And that **** who says this vindicates his belief that Orton should have kept his job in 06. For one thing the **** has the wrong year. It was 05.
The Grossman haters are proving my point with every post. Saying preseason is more pressurized than playoff games.
Its people like you who call in the death threats and make obscene gestures that need a comeuppance.
Nobody who truly knows the game says either person has proven to be the better QB. If anything overall Rex is slightly better.
Orton certainly hasn't proven to be the better one.
You have to be basing it on this one game. There is nothing else to base it on.
Everyone who says Orton has proven himself under pressure thinks that preseason games, last 2 games of a lost season or being told to manage games is more pressurized than playoff games.
Wondering,

Where not talking about the mental pressure of a playoff game VS. a Pre-season game.. We're talking about when the defense puts physical pressure on you while you're in the pocket...

And your comment about last season's last 3 games...Sure the Bears were out of it but the other 3 teams weren't which makes the last 3 games more impressive.

What is your obsession with giving evryone (most of all fans of Kyle Orton and anyone who questions Grossmon) the finger? You may need to seek some sort of counselling. Seriously. I mean who switches to their AOL account so they can cover their home town, just so they can post their 100th posting discussing how preseason pressure doesn't equal post season (by the way, I agree, but NO ONE EVER SAID IT DID) or talking about how Kyle Orton's one preseason game (let's just ignore his entire ROOKIE season) can't compare to Rex playing sub-par in the superbowl. NOTE: I didn't say he sucked or LOST THE GAME. Our defense was fairly poor that night. You must have no life or really hate Kyle Orton, or you are Rex Grossman's secret lover, or his mother. The guy had several good games. Heck he was offensive MVP for the month of Sept. once. All that said, the Bears questionable staff chose Orton as the starter and in his PRESEASON debut, he didn't suck. He was actually effective and MAY (you ****(and you love calling people ****)) become an effective QB for the Bears. If not, we'll go back to your boy Rex. In the mean time, relax, get some help for your finger obsession and maybe find a hobbie to take your mind off of your need to attack anyone who has the gall to say Orton COULD be DECENT.
Dave,

Possibly the best post of the year!
Yep agree with you on the finger thing... Where did that come from.

If they aren't the same person they're definitely gay lovers... Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Wouldn't crack you up if it was actually Rex Grossman having a nervous break down after not getting the starting Job. I've always questioned Rex's mental makup.

it never amazes me the media and another one of there hype stories.. orton looked for good tonight oh did you see that pass to bradley oh wait, what about the connection between him and rashid. wow he threw 2 touchdowns. yup he did all of that people against the damn 49ers. i'm so sick and tired of you idiots wake up people this guy is terrible. What we saw tonight was a smoke screen. This offense won't do nearly what they did tonight and that's not saying alot. Orton had all day to throw how realistic is that and the guy still looked jittery. What the hell is up with his front leg bouncing up and down like that is he nervous or something. You media can annoint orton all you want talk about him all you want come regular season when it starts this guy will be your punching bag.
I guarantee this offense looks nothing like this against indy. our wrs ha yea okay sure. rashid davis although i like him let me see what he looks like against a shutdown corner. did booker have one catch tonight i swear that guy is bad luck. he's probably the reason the miami qb's threw so many picks he sucks. the defense was even worst urlacher look slow and terrible so did peanut. I'm predicting a bad season for him. whatever his family reasons were and everyone is entitled his head is not in the game so why play the guy.
you people need to wake up is the same 49ers team we were beating by 40 pts at half in 06 and now they are as good as us. preseason or not had this been a regular season game they would have won. we could not apply any pressure to there qb's at all. Orton can smile and play along with this media all he wants mark my words come time for real competition we'll see who comes to play with there hard hat. this guy throws for 147 and the special teams plays great typical orton and what do you guys do start chanting orton gimme a break like nell harper. This 49ers team is so terrible there at the bottom of the sesspool. yea and you expect to win huh. I can't wait to see our tackles against freeney and the boys. rex grossman do i need to say more he should just go to another team. it's obvious ron turner intends on making this guy look terrible. a qb with some much potential only to be ruined by turner system. He should have taken the first flight out of chicago because i'll guarantee rex will more likely win a super bowl with another team before we make it to another super bowl with orton.
How did Arron Rodgers and that Great Green bay team look last week against the 49ers defense? Lets see 1st posession sack-punt, 2nd possession sack-punt, 3rd 3 and out, 4th sack Punt. Last year is last year, who is supposed to be better on offense Green bay or Chicago?

Yep. its pre-season....but I have had plenty of GROSSman over the years, it's time to see Orton and if he develops...great if not.....Draft!

since lovie put his buddy in charge of the defense its been all downhill. His reliance on buddies, lack of ability to make changes during the game, and unwillingness to play rookies with promise doom this team to failure. The end of the season will hopefully be the end of the lovie era.

LOL!!!!! Orton didn't even play in that game. Greise was the QB you idiot. LOL!!!

Here are a couple of pressure(big/important) games that come to mind that Rex performed well in.

06
Seahawks regular season
Seahawks playoffs
@ Giants regular season
Saints NFC title game

Every game after a Bad Rex game he redeemed himself. Those games became pressure games because he had to perform to keep Grieseball on the sidelines.

07
Giants reg season
Broncos reg season
@ Seahawks reg season

For those Orton optimists, here's food for thought:
I just looked up the stat lines on last year's Week 3 preseason game against the 49ers:
Rex Grossman
13-20 with 2 touchdowns, 1 interceptions
7 drives in 1st half, 290 yards: 4 touchdowns, 1 field goal, 1 punt, 1 interception
Kyle Orton
0-1 with 0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions
3 drives in 2nd half, 18 yards: 2 punts and the end of the game
This Year:
Kyle Orton
10-17, 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions
5 drives, 234 yards: 2 touchdowns, 2 field goals, 1 missed FG
Rex Grossman
1-4, 0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions
3 drives, 50 yards: 1 field goal, 2 punts
And we all know how last year turned out...

The defense will bounce back as the players on that end have a lot of pride. The offense looks pretty sharp. The special teams have slowly adjusted to the "hester as wide reciever" era. Orton, Davis, Bradley, Forte, Jones, Manning and the rest have shown us something to be excited about. I hope that Rex finds a new home next year as he too is a good qb that just may not be clicking in the bears system. All I can say is GO BEARS!!!!!!!!

Every Bear fan with a brain knows we'll have the same record with either QB. Only a **** thinks that there's no question either will be better.
What probably will happen is Orton will be hurt or more likely play like crap and Grossman wil have to come in and the POS in the stands will boo (glad they're there not home beating their wives and kids) and he'll do great and just when the fans want him to stay he'll tell the fans to take this job and shove it up their butts and go elsewhere.
That would be poetic justice. Sadly the real fans don't deserve it but Dave and such do.
Of course to Dave the only real fans are one who call in death threats.
Not one post here from the Grossman haters saying the calling in of death threats was wrong. What worthless POSl
Ok FanofBears here it goes...
1) Making death Threats are wrong and should not be tolerated
2) Throwing anything on the field should not be tolerated and you should loose your season tickets.
3) Boo-ing is acceptable

Did you listen to what Troy Aikmen said Jimmy Johnson told him when he was playing for him...
Let me quote him
" It's not how many great plays you make it's how how few of the bad ones you make"
Rex makes too many bad plays. Too many int's, too many fumbles, too many sacks, too many three and outs.

There is an old saying sports... You loose more games than you win games and thats Rex.

Sorry, wrong GB game, this one was Orton:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter...
Also, Orton led the Bears to beat New Orleans. Both NO and GB still had playoff chances, but Bears were playing for pride.

BTW, Griese was the highest-rated QB on the Bears last season, with Orton #2 and Grossman a lowly #3. We should have kept Griese as backup & let Grossman find a home someplace else.

Not to worry, this is Grossman's last pathetic season as a Bear! I'll buy him cab fare to the Greyhound station...

I will judge this debate by the number of times any poster reposts the same thought in a row.

More posts = less validity for their point. Who's the loser? Count them!
