OMG are you kidding me. We trade Hillis for a QB who is not really even a good second tier QB. Thanks again JOSH!!! Get ready for another less than stellar year to come. Well I guess at least Peyton will get to play instead of ride the bench because of a coach with a attitude wont play a VERY talented RB/FB. We should have traded Moreno not Hillis.

Sit back and eat another Twinkie.

Hillis and McDaniels apparently had a falling out...if ya listened to 850 koa Dave Logan would have filled ya in on that about halfway through last season.

Secondly Moreno is trying what Reggie Bush did...this year he will realize he has to lower his head alot more and make yards after initial contact.

3rd...I called for this trade about 6 month ago and am BEYOND happy they pulled the trigger...and cheaply too I might add.

Brady Quinn wants to win...he was in a losing system. McDaniels not only took a 6th rd QB ( Tom Brady ) and made him a winner...he took a QB who NEVER took a snap in college ( Matt cassell ) and made him a winner.

Just wait till the draft and you will see what I mean.

Once again I and hopefully Ash ( Tiger95 ) will be providing coverage and insights next month as we did on the old boards...unless Tort wants to host a draft deal on the WAMAH site.

for no good reason they dump a top rated quarterback to get two "nobody's"... they blow the following season then dump the two nobody's to get a reasonably good quarterback but dump a valuable player to do it .... excuse me? there has been no gained ground here... lots of drama... but nothing to show for it.

dear mr. bowlen... i could have been just as bad a coach as mcdaniels...i could have achieved equal or even worse results (what you seem to be striving for here) and cost you 3/4 less...hummm?

Oh great. I guess I didn't realize we were in the market for another mediocre quarterback. I give McDaniels one more 8 or less win season and he's gone.

I sure wish I knew what was the problem between McDaniels and Peyton and Brandstater. Pretty damn selfish of McDaniels to deprive Denver fans of a winning season over some rift between them. Now we're losing Peyton, an awesome force, for a QB that went 3-9 in 12 starts! And what is it with Orton? He's a terrible QB. Last season proved it. Something tells me it's going to be a long and unpleasant year for the Broncos.

Ah, a Denver forum. As a Browns fan, I have to say I love this trade. I'm so glad we could finally unload Quinn and get (from what I can tell) a halfway decent player that never really got his chance in Denver. Quinn can still maybe do something for you guys, and at the very least he has to be better than Orton. Who knows, we might be completely wrong about Quinn and his potential. Good luck to you guys and your team this year. Just like us, you guys have put up with a lot of BS in recent years.

David Carr was a highly touted QB when he came into the league...drafted by the Texans and given NOTHING to work with.

He spent 3/4 of the game on his back.

Brady Quinn really had nothing in Cleveland to work with either...although unlike Carr he might have a chance to finally show he can do something.

All of these sunshine patriots and naysayers can live with what they say now...if I am wrong I will be the first to admit it.

But if I am right...aw well as it seems everyone else in the sports media...will you say you were wrong?

It's a good trade and Mcdaniels can work with him.

You nailed it, Dave! Good to see you, really good. Hillis is pretty good, but not as much since he got hurt. And if coach isn't going to play him, why not give him a shot somewhere else while putting a little potential competition in the QB staff? We really didn't give up anything much.

Good post, Clevelander.

It was a good deal for a young QB that was stuck on team that sucked (Browns) and will suck for another 8 years (Browns).

Thanks RM.

Bronco fans have been bitter ever since John retired...folks those are shoes that can never be filled.

Brian Griese couldn't do it...Jake couldn't do it...noone could under Shannahan. His system was built around Elway.

That is why it went stagnant and failed.

McDaniels is bringing what he thinks ( and I and alot of the people who work for ESPN ) will be a winning system here.

He was part of three superbowls in New England...that counts for something in my book.

By the way...where was all of this nasty chatter about him being gone if he only wins 8 games this season when he started off 6-0??

Also remember...EVERYONE picked us at 4-12 last year.

Depending on draft I do believe we will make the playoffs.

No one is stepping into Elway's shoes anytime soon. Actually, check that, no one will be able to truly ever fill them. He was one of those legendary QBs like Marino that defined a generation.

You guys really didn't give up anything much for Quinn, and it ended up working out for both teams. I'm happy with it from the Cleveland end because we got something. Both of us also received a player who needs a chance to see what they can do.

Sure Quinn didn't have all day to throw in the pocket, but his passing performance was never impressive. Maybe he was too nervous in front of the hometown fans, but there was never anything about Quinn that really impressed me. I was upset when they drafted him, and my opinion of him didn't change after I saw him play.

A healthy system can make a bad QB look good. Orton is not a good quarterback, and in an open competition I have doubts that he would beat out Quinn for a starting job. With all the pieces around him, Quinn might do a good job for you guys. But he is not the next Elway and you guys could do much better. For now, there really isn't anyone out there.

Quinn is a good guy and seems like a nice person. I really do hope he does well. If I'm wrong about Quinn, I'll be the first to admit it. But there's a difference between being a successful quarterback and being a product of the system.

Very true CC. I mean alot of mock drafts had us taking Colt McCoy in the 2nd round.

Now with this trade we can pick up probably an OT or DE with that pick since I am almost positive we are taking Rolando Mcclain with out 1st pick.

So they keep the coaching staff anyway

What a joke

Yeah, there's actually no reason why we'd absolutely HAVE to trade up for someone. If Holmgren is that good at evaluating QB's, which I think he is, then he can pick up a good one outside of the first round. We can get one last O-line person with another pick and we'll have the best line in the league.

Rumor has it a trade will be done with all of the draft picks that he is amassing to take Bradford.

Just what I am hearing...cause Delhomme ain't the answer over there.
