Bears survive their dumb decisions

Where do you start? The sheer magnitude of the Bears' brain lock Thursday night was astounding despite their unlikely 27-24 victory.

i've been saying this all season.. orton sucks.. 24-40 172 0tds 2 ints 48 passing rating... and you call this a qb. i love the double standards here in chicago. lovie is an idiot.. he might have been worth the contract had he played rex and did this bad but playing kyle did not help him this season in my opinion. actually this works out better for rex. teams will see that this coaching staff was inept and certainly didn't do rex any favors

Hester has been a disaster at WR? I've counted at least a handful of plays this season where he has gotten behind the defense, including two plays today (on the first he was overthrown by Orton, on the second he drew the PI call for the game winning field goal in OT), that should've been touchdowns but for a bad pass.
Hester did his job on those plays and got behind the defense deep. Had the passes been good, Hester would have about 7 or 8 TD catches on the season.

Rick, Ya as dumb as ya sound .... the fake punt was fine, and even worked, the fact that even instant replay can't get it right says more about the state NFL than the bears trying that ... i actually called it. the paly it self was stupid, but, it did work, and the PART TIME REFS didn't get it right even though the guy is laying on his back with the ball.... plain and simple, that was a catch my friend. PLAIN AND SIMPLE, the NFL suck because it has johnny blow officiating game.....bears won, and siants fans can go F-themselves. and minnesota drunkard fans too.

Refs really blew that non-call in the endzone at the end of regulation. Would have put the Bears on 1 with enough time for two running plays. How could they not see the mugging that was going on?

The fake punt was a bold choice. The defense was struggling at that point and had been on the field a long time due to scoring drives. The play almost works. If it works, the drive is kept alive. The Saints did not score as a result of the not executing the fake punt.

Despite the coaching staff doing everything possible to help the Bears loose, the players were able to overcome the Saints as well as their own coaches to win this game. They surely can't do this every week.
Oh...and I forgot to mention. By winning this game, the Bears are assured of at least a 500 season. What does that mean? How about another year of Lovie. Winning last nights game saved Lovie's job so he can be around next year to lead this team to another 500 season. Don't expect much more from this inept coaching staff.
Geeeeeeeeee....I don't hear anybody talking about the Bears going back to the superbowl. What happened? Instead, all we hear is ...about player suspension that would help the Bears win the division. Now what kind of division win would that be?
Getting to the playoffs and getting knocked out of the first round is not my idea of the Bears getting to the superbowl....or at best..being considered to be superbowl contenders.
All the vikes have to do is win 2 out of 3 and the bears are done for the year no matter how many games they win.
I'm glad that the players won last night's game, but not glad that Lovie will continue to stick around to ensure that this team goes nowhere.
Let's see how things panned out...

This year...Lovie blamed execution and old age of players

Just when will he start blaming himself?

Perhaps Lovie had too much confidence in his defense. If the fake punt fails they get the ball at midfield or beyond. I look at it that way. If the fake kick works....everyone would be loving the call.

When was the last time that the Bears won 3 in the row? News for you, it won't happen next week. The Pack has our number this year....and beating the Bears would make up for not making the playoffs. Expect the best from the Pack next week and expect the Bears coaches to do their best to screw things up again.

The Bear coaching staff is like the Bush administration, always in denial. It's the worst staff in the NFL. The Bears would be 10-2 and not 8-6 if it wasn't for their blunders.

Don't worry, those players will get suspended eventually. But if that is what it takes for the Bears to win this season, you can have it. I waiting for the Bears to be strong enough to get to the superbowl not accidently get into the playoffs just to loose the first round.
