There are 1 comment on the The Gaston Gazette story from Jan 6, 2008, titled ANALYSIS: Delhomme's injury ended Panthers' season. In it, The Gaston Gazette reports that:

“I don't think we're as far away as people might think”

Every NFL season has a turning point, for better or worse. For the Carolina Panthers it was the latter, and it came in the third quarter of Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome. via The Gaston Gazette

I think that Delhomme absent had very little to do with the Panthers demise. The Panthers finished 8and 8 last season donot forget.I think the media and Fox is giving too much emphasis on the QB's absence.Jake is a back-up (talent wise)at best no more no less. They were who we thought they were".Mistakes and turn-overs plague this poorly prepared team of this and other seasons of past.
