Before the 2012 NFL season began, the number of pundits who believed the Minnesota Vikings were going to improve from their 3-13 record and last-place finish in the NFC North could have fit into a Smart Car.

Hi 40! few thoughts here....O line is vastly improved huh? Brinkley playing great, not gettin' lost to much in coverage schemes. Ponder maturing faster than anticipated; Smith has been a pleasant surprise and the cover 2 not there as much also a good idea.

It seems these guys in purple now believe they can win and that is a intangible that is invaluable. Every year there is at least one surprise team in the NFL that makes the post season noone saw coming...hmmm.

We'll see how they play in the stretch of the schedule that is mostly division teams....Bears twice in 3 weeks. GO VIKES. OH, and that little Walsh guy can kick huh.

I still wish they had a legit deep threat guy, with Ponders' ability to extend plays via his mobility a deep guy would be a valuable component of this offense.

Harvin for Pres.!

Oh yeah......I also like the way the coaches have platooned players on the D-LINE, NICE TOUCH! Lord knows there is enough talent personnel wise there to share the wealth!

Hi Erie, good to hear from you.
The elephant in the room is Speilman. What he has done in two years of drafts to turn this thing around isn't being talked about too much, but these players are mixing in well with our vets and they definitely have talent.
O-line is already considered one of the top, from last years turnstiles, the transformation is astounding.
Ponder has been a real surprise too and has found success by spreading the ball around, and getting the ball to Harvin and Rudolph on a consistent basis.
D line still the strength of this defense, but it's much more balanced now. The d line doesn’t have to try to make up for all the bad coverage, and Greenway is having a beast of a year.
Here's to continued success Erie!

It is absolutely astounding the turnaround this team has made from last year. If this team is truly for real, and I think it is, we're going to be good for at least the next 5 years, based on how young this team is.
I'm STOKED!

It sure has, you should come over to the Packer forum to rub our noses in it too. I had no problem ripping on the Vikes in the offseason. I completely underestimated the Vikings this year. I thought they might go 7-9 at best. This must be a pleasant surprise for you and all Viking fans, and to top it off the almighty Pack are just 2-3 losing a couple games they should have won. IMO it is crazy upside down world in the NFL. Still many games left but I would not be surprised to see the Vikes up 3 games on the Pack with 10 to go.

WTF is going on !?! I am shocked so far!

Maybe Goodell's favor will shine down upon the Vikings and the league will shoehorn us to our first Super Bowl win.
Just like the Saints, lol. If we could just tie it into that bridge collapse..........

As we've witnessed, rubbing the others nose in it can turn in a hurry!
Everyone is as surprised with GB' play as they are about the Vikings resurgence.
I also will admit to predicting a season in the area of 6-10, so I certainly didn't see this coming.
GB has too much talent to keep playing the way they have been, but the O-line has slipped from last year.
Also, after the season GB had last year and especially the way it ended, it's hard to judge how much of an impact it will have the following season. It still may be a hangover from last year, but I don't expect it to continue all season long.
If the Vikings truly are as good as they have been playing, then I expect the two GB games to be good contests, and along with Chicago fighting it out all season long to win the North.

One game, and one without accounting for RG3. If this trend continues, then I'll worry.
