The Jets have drafted a lot of tight ends who failed. Now, they are picking up other people's tight ends who failed.

Bubba can block better than most TE's in the league, his catching abilities have dropped off in recent years, maybe his new location will renew his old style which was awesome. If he can make the final roster, you guys should be happy with him. Look at what Keith Jackson did for GB on our SB run in 96.

As a Packer fan, Bubba is a good blocking TE who is strong around the goal line. Staying healthy and making yards after the catch have been his problem.

He was never the same after the back injury. Before that, he was terrific--a 3 time Pro Bowler, if I am not mistaken.

As someone who applauded the aquisitions of fanica/pace/even jenkins, enough is enough now. Too much already, are we really upgrading?, or will it take a while now for these FA to gel, and are we setting ourselves back with soo many additions.

Bubba is a short-term solution as the Jets plan on drafting a young TE in this year's draft. Not a bad pickup at all - and he's probably better all around than Shockey.

Jets have a run-oriented scheme. At this point in his career, that's what Franks does best. Plus a knack for the end zone catches. I think it's a decent short term solution.

True enough, they are going to get rid of Losman this year and if Edwards gets the job done AFC East is there for the taking.
